Yes. If your computer has a built in monitor and RCA slots you can plug it right in. Otherwise you have to buy a separate component. You can run it with (unknown program(if you know program to use fill in here)).

When the get old, that just happens, and I don't know of any way to fix it permanently.

I know this sounds terrible, but the only way I can get them to brighten for a while is to whack (not to hard) the top or right side of the CRT.

Each device will have different requirements, and even then, you'll need to decide what you want to monitor and why. Are you interested in disk space? CPU utilization? Do you want to make sure that a certain application or service is running on a device? The more complex network monitoring solutions can do just that, and anything else your mind can dream up.

fluorescent isnt always the best lighting to use a workstation because it produces UV radiation which isnt good for your eye sight

As far as I know, you CAN'T. While some LCD monitors do have a tv tuner and can process the data coming from the satelite receiver...most can't. If you are in the market for an lcd screen and want to make dual use of it, look for one that includes a component (R, Yb, G) input in addition to the standard VGA connection. You can however, use any monitor be it LCD or CRT as a tv if you have something like an AverMedia tv tuner (stand-alone tv tuner that will decode tv signal from your satellite box). There are some LCD monitors that do have multiple inputs, and are meant to be used as computer monitors as well as TVs. Good luck

I had the same problem on my PC which suddenly appeared out the blue and thought it was my monitor. However I have just uninstalled the Google taskbar from my Internet Explorer 7 and it has now gone. I cannot believe this is the cure but my monitor does not show auto processing now at start up.

In the uppper left corner of the screen, you'll find a series of buttons with differnet funcions. One of them is "View". Click on it, and another flap of options will appear. One of them is "Zoom" Hover your mouse over it, and you'll have a diminishing and an augmenting option for the screen. Or you could just press Crlt++

In my experience ... worst case scenerio is that the liquid drips down into the bottom of the screen and then you end up with black streaks on the interior of the screen that you can't wipe off. I will get back to you to let you know if they eventually "dry up" or something. I have read that some people have had success in getting rid of the black streaks by running fans in front of the TV overnight and someone else took the front of the screen off and let it air dry. I'm not brave enough to take apart my TV so we are going with the "fan and wait" method for now.
