I do a lot of print design work, which type of computer monitor is better for me, an LCD or CRT?
A LCD monitor runs at a lower meg hertz and might be as bright, you can always go with a high MAC LCD monitor that a lot of professional graphic designers use.
What hardware component is used to display the result of processing to the user?
The monitor is what displays the result of any processing to the user. The video adapter plays a major role in providing the display to the monitor. Together, the video hardware gives an output that the user can use.
What is random scan and interlacing?
When operated as a random-scan display unit, a CRT has the electron beam directed only to the parts of the screen where a picture is to be drawn. Random-scan monitors draw a picture one line at a time and for this reason are also referred to as vector displays (or stroke-writing or calligraphic displays). The component lines of a picture can be drawn and refreshed by a random-scan system in any specified order (fig). A pen plotter operates in a similar way and is an example of a random-scan, hard-copy device. Refresh rate on a random-scan system depends on the number of lines to be displayed. Picture definition is now stored as a set of line-drawing commands in an area of memory referred to as the refresh display file. Sometimes the refresh display file is called the display list, display program, or simply the refresh buffer. To display a specified picture, the system cycles through the set of commands in the display file, drawing each component line in turn. After all line-drawing commands have been processed, the system cycles back to the first line command in the list. Random-scan displays are designed to draw all the component lines of a picture 30 to 60 times each second. High-quality vector systems are capable of handling approximately 100,000 "short" lines at this refresh rate. When a small set of lines is to be displayed, each refresh cycle is delayed to avoid refresh rates greater than 60 frames per second. Otherwise, faster refreshing of the set of lines could burn out the phosphor. Random-scan systems are designed for line-drawing applications and can-not display realistic shaded scenes. Since picture definition is stored as a Set of line-drawing instructions and not as a set of intensity values for all screen points, vector displays generally have higher resolution than raster systems. Also, vector displays produce smooth line drawings because the CRT beam directly follows the line path. A raster system, in contrast, produces jagged lines that are plotted as discrete point sets. jackson francis malugala

How Polarizers are used in LCD?
In an LCD, polarizing filters are placed on either side of the grooved transparent plates. They are oriented so that their polarized axes are offset by 90 degrees. Light follows the orientation of the liquid crystal molecules. In on pixels (left), the twisted molecules twist the incoming polarized light so that it can exit the system. In off pixels, (right), a voltage is applied to line up liquid crystal molecules end to end. Incoming polarized light pass straight through the molecules but blocked the polarized light filters.
Full-color LCD projectors use a three-LCD-panel design, one each for red, green and blue light. In this approach, white light is divided into its red, green and blue components through the use of special mirrors and a prism. Once separated, the red light is passed through the LCD panel that displays the red picture information. The same happens for the other two light components and panels. Next the light is passed to the projector's optical system where it is reassembled and projected.
What is a VGA to composite cable used for?
A VGA composite cable is a Video Graphics Array cable, it contains three rows of five pins in one connector and is used to connect computers to monitors.
How do you fix horizontal lines that have suddenly appeared on a computer monitor screen?
Check with external monitor - if problem persists
- graphics card
- connector cables
- outdated drivers
if external monitor works fine then-
- all (any) mentioned above
- lcd screen
tips : give a shake, apply pressure on lcd, reseat connector cables, allow the computer to cool
Why do you only use one foot to drive?
It allows you to have the option of using the other one when you break your foot. :)
What is the first electrical PC component to wake up when the computer turn on?
The Power Supply Unit (PSU).
This then activates the BIOS (Basic Input-Output system) stored in ROM, (Read-Only memory.) which contains instructions on loading the Operating System.
How did silk screen printing change the use of stencils?
The fine meshes used in silk screen printing were substantial enough to support the unattached elements of a stencil, without posing a barrier to the passage of the dye or paint
What is a sales monitoring system?
It is a means (electronic) of keeping an eye on how many sales a company is making, and how much profit is being earning. It also tells you trends in which stock is moving fastest, and may be linked in to an ordering system.
Do you need to leave a gap between computer screens if they are next to each other?
I would. Simply for the purpose of encouraging air circulation across the components, it's a good idea to leave a gap around all computer components. Don't stack 'stuff' on top of the tower or the monitor, and so forth.
Why is it important to monitor turbidity levels of a water system?
Because if you don't, suspended particles can diffuse light and absorb too much heat.
Why monitoring computer in school is important?
Protect the computer security of the school, prevent minors from accessing websites with bad information, prohibit playing games during class, etc.
Computer monitoring software has many other important functions.

How to adjust screen resolution by using javascript?
You can only adjust the size of some browser windows, usually only those that were already opened by JavaScript code. You can not adjust the size of the main browser or the entire screen.
You can get products that can turn any monitor into a TV with various inputs.
Can I connect my PlayStation to a computer to play video games?
You can connect your PlayStation to your computer via a composite or composite to VGA or DVI out.
How can you connect your laptop with the broken screen to your lcd tv?
To connect laptop to TV all you need is an s-video cable. You can get them at dollar stores. On most laptops, there is a plug that looks like where you would plug in a mouse on a desktop PC. On the TV you will find the same plug, its commonly used to connect DVD players. Some TVs will not have them though. In case you don't, then check if you are able to connect thru VGA, DVI or HDMI ports, its all deepens on the type of laptop and tv you have.
If you decide to bring your laptop back to life, then I suggest you to replace the whole screen. The typical cost of repair in the North America would be around $100 - $150 all based on the model of your notebook.
Check the related link to find the part, as well as instructions on how to replace the lcd using your own labor. My Best.
Also... sometimes it is the backlight not the screen that has failed, if you have a dim picture, it could be a failed backlight. The replacement screen must have exactly the same backlight type as the original (old) screen. Currently there are 2 major types of backlight for notebook LCD screens:
1. CCFL (Cold cathode fluorescent lamp)
a) 1-CCFL - contains 1 bulb
b) 2-CCFL - contains 2 bulbs
2. LED (Light emitting diode)
The CCFL backlight screens always need a high voltage inverter to power the bulb inside the screen. The LED screens use light emitting diodes to light up the screen. Most of the LED screens today require an inverter as well and the inverters of the two types are completely different. Inverters of the LED screens are attached to the bottom of the screen. One CCFL (also known as "single backlight") - has been and still is the most popular backlight type in laptop screens. The screen contains one bulb to light it up and has a pair of wires at the bottom finished with one white inverter connector that plugs into inverter board.
I dont know how to do it. Is there anyone who can answer this question....
How can you correct computer screen problems?
It depends on the problem. Could be corrected by going to Control Panel, Display Options and making the corrections. It may be because the monitor is going bad or a magnetic fied is interfering with the displayMaybe a setting on the monitor itself needs to be changed. It could be a bad cable connection. There's no one fix for everything. Not even just replacing the monitor because the monitor might not be the problem.
