What to do when car doesn't stArt?
Well..i saw my dad do this when my uncles car didnt start- you can get someone you know that has a good running car and boost yours with those things with the clipperz at the ends lol...but...yeah- hope you can find out more info about this from what I've said lol.

How do you correct convergence problems on a JVC av48wp30?
I'm in the process of repairing my red convergence failure on my JVC AV48WP30. The red convergence failure shows as a red "sag" or bow in the upper left corner of my screen, but could be blue or green in other parts of your screen depending on which convergence IC malfunctioned.
I'm not an expert, but from what I can tell if you have the sag of any color, one of two convergence IC's failed on the convergence board located in the front right cabinet portion of your TV (don't open the back of the TV).
The failure could have been caused by a faulty resister nearby. Look for smoked or burnt resisters near the 804 or 805 convergence IC's. The IC's themselves might be clearly labeled STK392-110, but you could upgrade to 150's or 180's for better heat tolerance. You may have to replace one or more resistors as well. Unplug the TV, open the front cabinet, desolder the existing IC's and replace. You could just swap IC's, resolder and power the TV on. If you notice a sag of a different color, now you've determined it was definitely a convergence IC failure. The IC's themselves ran me about $15 each from a TV repair shop. Call first to make sure they have them in stock.

I think the answer is: if you input voltage to a grounded center-tapped secondary transformer winding, only 1/2 the voltage is applied to each rectifier at a time (sine wave), therefore the rectified voltage measured would be 1/2 that of the total voltage. The peak voltage would be 1.4 x RMS. Hope this helps.

A diode allows current to flow in only one direction. If the current is flowing, the diode has a low resistance and it behaves like a wire or a switch in the on position. If the voltage across the diode is reversed, no current flows and the diode has a very high resistance. It behaves like a switch in the off position.
DC voltages are used to switch the diode on or off. The signal that is being switched is usually an AC audio or radio signal. Capacitors block DC but pass AC signals. By combining diodes and capacitors, the AC and DC signals are kept separate and the switch can be built.
