What is the literary form of Ecclesiastes?

There really isn't a sufficient short answer, but an interesting essay has been linked to below that discusses the genre of Ecclesiastes.

Here is the short answer from the essay itself.

The resolution for Ecclesiastes' paradox is found in the very last verses: The answer to whether happiness is better than sorrow is, proverbially, that each is better than the other at various times and by various situations, because life is complex, not simple.

What is the Astrological star sign for December?

What is it called if you believe in creation AND evolution?

The notion of a deity causing the process of evolution by natural selection is referred to as 'theistic evolution'. However, it is often called 'evolutionary creationism' if the concept of God as Creator is wanted to be emphasised. There are many different types however; some believe that God caused the laws which subsequently govern the natural world and the evolution process; others believe that God continually sustains the process and shapes its future. The former is a bit like God winding up a pocket watch and then letting it work independently; the latter is more like God writing on a piece of paper - if He stops writing, the process will stop; it is continuous activity.

What is the iluminaty?

The "Order of the Illuminati" was an "enlightenment" movement modeled on the Freemasons that was founded in 1776 in Bavaria by Adam Weishaupt, the first lay professor of canon law at the University of Ingolstadt. The movement was made up of freethinkers as an offshoot of the Enlightenment.

Does Eusthenopteron prove Evolution?

Eusthenopteron is a link in a chain of evidence supporting evolution. Transitional forms have been found that are elements of its development from a fish that lived entirely in the ocean to the tetrapods that walked on land. These progressive changes spanned million of years in the late Devonian, from the fish Eusthenopteron, through Tiktaalik, and Acanthostega, to the oldest known tetrapod, Ichthyostega. Eusthenopteron was fish in the ocean, but a portion of that ocean became landlocked and is now part of Pennsylvania. In Darwin's evolution there are mechanisms for development of new genetic information. One of them is described by Ilya Prigogine. Another is Lamarck's evolution (this requires a feedback loop), which is a subset of Darwin's evolution. A third is... well, I'll leave it to you to research on your own.

Why is man not missing a rib today if God took one from Adam to create Eve?

If a man has surgery to remove his appendix, would you find it reasonable for his sons to be born without appendixes and his daughters to have them? This is a good example of people applying disastrous pseudoscience in order to somehow reconcile 'science' with ancient texts. It was thought for a time that men indeed have one fewer rib than women for the reason given. And then this popular belief turned out not to be true at all.

According to the narrative, Adam existed in full adult form when the rib was taken. Why not presume that Adam's genetic structure remained intact over the course of his lifetime and this structure is what he passed on? Otherwise you would need to hypothesize that the Deity for some reason decided that he made a mistake, and 'fixed' Adam's DNA to reflect his corrected form. The narrative simply states that God fashioned a woman using one of Adam's ribs; there is no assertion or implication that Adam's original form was a mistake. The narrative is not meant to reflect a 'creation correction' on the part of the Deity; it is also not meant to be a scientific treatise.

Was Satan created before the garden of Eden?

A:

There is no mention of Satan in the Garden of Eden. The talking snake should not be confused with Satan, as can be seen by God's punishment of snakes for this one's role in the fall (Genesis 3:14).

Why did God create man when he knew man would sin?

God told Adam and Eve: "Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth." "And Jehovah God also laid this command upon the man: 'From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.'" (Gen. 1:28; 2:16, 17)

This command to "fill the earth," was a happy assignment that they could find delight in, have a wonderful future.

If you are a parent, would you have your children undertake a project, that they would enjoy, knowing that they were doomed to failure? Would you give them instruction, and warn them of consequences of going contrary of your instructions, while knowing that you had planned from the start that they would not succeed? This is not reasonable to believe that God would do something like this. The Bible tells us that he is loving and righteous.

Consider what Matthew 7:11 says: "If you, although being wicked [or, "bad as you are," NE], know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more so will your Father who is in the heavens give good things to those asking him?"

If God foreordained Adam's sin and the resulting misery in the world that resulted from that sin, it would mean that by creating Adam, God deliberately had a share in causing all of the problems and wickedness. He would be the original cause of wars, crime, injustice, oppression, disease, and all the other bad things we see around us today. However, the Bible tells us at Psalms 5:4 that, "You are not a God taking delight in wickedness." In fact, Psalms 11:5 says, " Anyone loving violence His soul certainly hates." We read that, "God . . . cannot lie." (Titus 1:2) "From oppression and from violence he [the One designated by God as Messianic King] will redeem their soul, and their blood will be precious in his eyes." (Ps. 72:14) "God is love." (1 John 4:8) "He is a lover of righteousness and justice."-Ps. 33:5. All these Bible verses and more give us insight as to God's personality and show us that he could never be a party to such wickedness we see in the world.

It would be reasonable to conclude then that Jehovah made a choice not to foresee what Adam-and Eve-would do, even though He could have.

Obviously, Jehovah can foresee the future, but sometimes He chooses not to do so, just like a person with a television set can choose whether to watch a program or not. Furthermore, it is most reasonable to conclude that He, being a God of love, would not predetermine the rebellion in the garden of Eden, with all the misery that it has caused. (Matthew 7:11; 1 John 4:8) Jehovah's exercise of foreknowledge is selective. He chooses when and how to use that ability.Compare Genesis 22:12; 18:20, 21.

Furthermore, He allows humans the freewill to decide whether to listen to Him and receive blessings or not. He does not force His will apon us. Several scriptures show that we have a choice, such as: Revealtion 22:17: "Let anyone hearing say: 'Come!' And let anyone thirsting come; let anyone thatwishes take life's water free." Also, Romans 2:4, 5: "Do you despise the riches of his kindness and forbearance and long-suffering, because you do not know that the kindly quality of God is trying to lead you to repentance? But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath and of the revealing of God's righteous judgment." Zephaniah 2:3: "Seek Jehovah, all you meek ones of the earth . . . Seek righteousness, seek meekness. Probably you may be concealed in the day of Jehovah's anger."

Whether we obey GOD or not is left up to us as it was Adam and Eve. Jehovah tells us what is right and wrong, and warns us of the consequences if we disobey. We, like our first parents are free moral agents. The option is set before us to decide. It is up to us to make the right choices and reap the benefits or disobey and pay the penalty.

Answer

Because without "Sin", there will be nothing to forgive or save from, thus, there won't be a need for a God.

Answer

God was one step ahead of man's sin. He had a plan to restore man to Himself. The fact that so few choose this path is no fault of God, as if He made man sin. The alternative would be a race of robots. God wanted people to love and worship Him freely. Those who are programmed to act in a certain way cannot make a choice and so cannot know love.

Answer.

Man created God in his image : intolerant, sexist, homophobic and violent.

Answer.

As I understand it, God of course new that Adam and Eve were going to sin. But his creation had and still has a purpose. God gave all of us free will, the reason for that is because like some have already mentioned, God created everything for himself, he desired a creation which could truly love him. Now from a philosophical standpoint, true love must exist with the option to hate, God could not have created beings that just loved him, with no ability to choose not to love him, otherwise that would have been a programmed love, and not true love which comes by a choice. Think of it this way, I don't know if you do or don't have any children, but lets say for this example that you don't have children. Now lets say that somehow, before you had any children you were able to obtain knowledge that if you went ahead with having those children, at some point in their lives they were going to hate you, denounce you as their parent and abandon you. Would you still go ahead with having children if you knew that would happen? I know I would, even though I do not have any children, I can say that I plan to have children and although they technically don't exist at the moment I do love them, and I would not hesitate to bring them into this world. It was the same with God. He loved all of us before he created us, yet he knew that we would denounce him and abandon him as our creator. But God was the first one to have true love, and so he made the choice to create us, not because things would work out great, but because he loved us as a parent loves their children. So in the end, sin and evil are actually some of the greatest evidences of God's love, in that he created us in spite of who we would become, the same way a parent has children in spite of all the possibilities of that child's future.

Jewish Answer

When the Torah states that HaShem created man in His own image, this refers to humans having freewill. Without being able to do bad, freewill would be pointless. Additionally, it is only through making mistakes then correcting those mistakes that an individual can grow and become closer to HaShem.

When did the creation evolution debate start?

In the beginning same day God created Adam Eve ...satan devil came on scene told perfect man he did not need God he could come up with his own truth his on way ...man accepted lie chose what they knew to be true based on there 5 senses and mind ...instead of what God said was true based on spirit to spirit connection ...which was now severed because they chose to live according to what they accepted to be true... verses what there creator told them showed them to be true... out of intimacy with him...so man exalted knowledge above knowing God ...

man has devolved last 6000 plus years ....living according to there own truth rejecting hating Gods truth ...and accepting loving devils lies...devil comes to steal kill destroy Jesus came to reconnect and give life....Jesus is truth light ...devil is darkness lies ...LIE of Evolution destroys millions of people because if man is really evolving into perfect beings.... then we dont need saviour...Jesus came because in beginning we were perfect chose to believe LIE live according to our mind flesh not our spirit.... and Jesus reconnected us to God... so when we choose his way we are restored to original creation perfect in him....

The devil thru Lie of Evolution deceives many into accepting believing lies written over last few hundred years that supposedly happened millions of years ago ....BUT he gets us to reject truth that was written 2000 years ago about our creator becoming man so we can have relationship and be connected to him like it was in beginning ....What we believe accept as truth right wrong good bad becomes our reality...Gods absolute truth verses our own truth and in our foolish pride with devils help we believe his lie to be better way than Gods way....

The reason so many are such mess they believe lie we evolved ...and future looks dark...they live delusion lie no light...BUT when you know God Jesus gives you victory over all devil does to make you victim....King Solomon richest wisest man who ever lived said life is vain if you dont know God...and he had everything he had so much people came from all over world to see his kingdom

No one nothing can fill void like knowing God can...what have you gained if you own world but lose your soul ?

These are the beliefs from someone who believes that the Earth is only 6,000 years old and has no understanding of the scientific facts of evolution and religious philosophy.

Religion and science are very different endeavors, and religious views do not belong in a science classroom at all.

In science class, students should have opportunities to discuss the merits of arguments and evidence within the scope of science.

For example, students might investigate and discuss exactly where birds branched off of the tree of life: before dinosaurs or from within the dinosaur clade. I

Many religious people, including theologians, feel that a deeper understanding of nature actually enriches their faith. Moreover, in the scientific community there are thousands of scientists who are devoutly religious and also accept evolution.

Creation day 1 to day 7?

It's found in the first book of the Bible, Genesis 1 (hopefully you have a Bible, it's really easy to find).

There actually are only 6 creation days, because God rested on the 7th day as an example for people to rest on the Sabbath.

1- God created the heavens and the earth. God created light

2- God created the sky (atmosphere most likely in modern terms)

3- God created plants and vegetation

4- God created two great lights (sun and moon) and all of the stars

5- God created sea-creatures and winged birds.

6- God created creatures on land, and lastly people.

What are aliens here to teach us?

Which aliens are your referring to? Illegal ones? Or Extra-terrestrial ones? As to the former, they are probably here to teach us that no matter how bad things might seem in this country, many people are willing to risk danger, death, imprisonment, and even more, to come here rather than live in their native land. In case of the latter, I could tell you, but then I'd have to kidnap you to Beta V in the constellation of Aries for prisoner re-education, and you wouldn't want that.. Yes I would!

What are the differences between Japanese creation myth and genesis creation?

The Japanese Creation myth basically talks about all the elements being combined and particles moving that cause a 'heaven' and an 'earth' to be formed. It then goes on to say the first 3 gods appeared [mysteriously]. After that it essentially goes on to talk about how they created everything on the earth.

The record of Creation taken from Genesis states that there was God. He has been there eternally [eternal God]. God then creates light, water, creatures, vegetation, man (Adam first, and later Eve), etc over a period of seven days. Everything was perfect [on earth] and God said it was 'very good'. But Satan, who was an angel (previously called Lucifer), fell and took a third of the angels with him.

Satan then came and tempted man to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Eve ate it first, and then gave the fruit to Adam to eat. They then became sinful and were forced to leave the Garden of Eden (Which was later destroyed either before or during the Flood).

Main Differences:

Japanese Myth = The gods mysteriously appeared

Genesis [Biblical] Record = God has always been there, an uncreated being

Does creationism exist only in Christianity?

Answer: Various religions have different ideas on how the world and all that is came to be. Creationism as such, as it has come to be known from the middle of the twentieth century exists only in Christianity, especially since it relates primarily to what could be called the scientific verification of the Bible truth of creation (although of course the presupposition of Bible truth comes first).

If God is almighty why would there be a need for an evolutionary process to perfect His imperfect creation?

Answer 1

Evolution is God's method of perfecting his creation. He sets everything up at the start, and lets it work from there. While it is perfectly possible for him to create humankind as perfect in the first place, he has decided to go the roundabout way and use a complicated tool which he also created.

Answer 2

It is a misconception that evolution perfects anything. Evolution merely changes: it has no direction, it has no goals, it does not structurally lead to 'better' lifeforms or even more complex lifeforms - increases in complexity, when found, are purely incidental.

If an omnipotent god therefore created evolution, then evolution itself must have been the goal of that god, not any specific product of evolution.

What is going to happen to us and where are we going to go?

God tells us in his word the Bible that we are going to live forever on a paradise earth. Psalms37:29 says: "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it." But the earth won't be the same as it is today. Revelation 21:4 states: "And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. So the Bible tells us that we will reside forever on a perfect earth, where peace and happiness will abound, and wickedness will be gone... forever. ANSWER it pains me to say this but not everybody is going to hevean and your destination will depend on your choice about God. this choice is not to be taken lightly. there is only onw way to hevean and that is Jesus the christ. in hell people will be tortured by eternal fire. in hevean people will reside with Jesus in paradise. the choice is simple, but the price is steep. your life on earth for eternal life in hevean, or reject god and enjoy sin for a season until you die and then you will go to hell. hell is a real place, just as real as heaven. dont listen to these false prophets who say no matter what you do you will end up in hevean. Jesus is the way the truth and the life, no man may come to the father except by beleiving in Jesus christ and accepting him as your saviour.
