What was William Paley's idea of how God created the world?
William Paley was a Christian apologist of the eighteenth to nineteenth centuries, best known for his "blind watchmaker" argument. He asserted that "No animal, for instance, can have contrived its own limbs and senses; can have been the author to itself of the design with which they were constructed." This argument, made at a time when notions of evidence and probablility were less disciplined than in modern times, was not really overturned until Charles Darwin's The Origin of Species.
Paley asserted the goodness of God, in his creation, based on the beneficial nature of the arrangements in species. His argument took something that exists, assigned it a value, and then projected that value back to the supposed Designer of the species, while ignoring evidence to the contrary. Paley simply took his perceptions and valuations of the existing world and assigned them to his Deity.

What is The 'Gap Theory' of Creation?
Some Christians believe there was a long gap (perhaps as long as 4.6 billion years) between the first two verses of Genesis. During this time there was a war in heaven, demons were cast down to earth, and nature was corrupted through demonic activity. Young Earth creationists - those who literally believe that the Earth is only a few thousand years old and that there was a great, world-wide flood - have great difficulty because of the geological evidence to the contrary. The most widespread Young Earth creationist response is to claim that the geological evidence is either wrong, misunderstood or falsified. On the evidence, Young Earth creationists do not understand the geological time chart, and certainly do not use it in any constructive sense.

In Deputy Editor Robert Schlesinger's blog on US New & World Report, February, 11, 2009, Schlesinger analyzed the results of a recent Gallup poll that claims 25% of Americans reject evolution (that doesn't necessarily mean they believe in Intelligent Design, however; that information wasn't provided).
"I guess the upside is that the figure-39 percent-is a plurality of respondents in a new Gallup poll. Fully a quarter of Americans said that they reject evolution, while 36 percent say they don't have an opinion."
In the February 6, 2009, edition of US News & World Report, blogger Dan Gilgoff claims:
"During this last campaign, the topic of science-specifically, creationism and evolution-was pushed out onto the stage of the presidential debates. So much so that USA Today/Gallup released the results of a poll in which 66 percent of Americans stated that they believe in creationism."

The Gallup poll site (see Related Links) posts the results of an August 2008 poll indicating 44% believe God created man in his present form; 36% appear to believe in some admixture of evolution and creationism/ID; 14% believe in straight evolution; 5% have no opinion.
Why is there so much variation in statistics? Because the results of a survey depend on the questions asked, the audience polled, the amount of bias involved in interpretation, the agenda of the person or entity reporting the information, and various people's willingness to manipulate data to support their case.

Whether or not I am literally a creation of God, I believe that I, along with my fellow humans, am the most complex creature ever to have evolved. I am far from perfect, for example my skeleton is in some ways better suited to a four-footed animal and my diaphragm can rupture too easily because I walk upright, but I am at the end of an evolutionary line that made my kind ideally suited to rule the world.

The confusion usually lies in the fact that on day four, He then created the sun.

It sounds confusing, but it's not. God needed to create light first, otherwise the sun and all the stars would have nothing to give off, because the substance of light would have not yet been created.

This is what I believe, God created dinosaurs the same way and time as all of the other creatures. Well then, how did Noah fit them in the Ark? Well I think he just had the baby dinosaurs and you have to also realize that the Ark was bigger than the cartoonized Ark that's on the cover of most bible story books. Why don't dinosaurs exist now? They obviously died off. Every day species become extinct so dinosaurs could have also. And have you ever considered that dinosaurs could have been the dragons in the legends and cultures spread across the Earth?
What is the meaning of the theory of intelligent design?
Intelligent design is not a theory, or at least not a scientific one. It is just another word for creationism, and swaps out the word God for the word "designer". In every other way it is identical to creationism. It is not a scientific theory because it involves the supernatural which cannot be tested, proven, or observed and is therefore not science.

The idea of Intelligent Design means that things in the universe (humans, animals, the water cycle, physical constants, etc.), exhibit vast wisdom and cannot possibly have come about just by random events. The universe must have been deliberately designed.
- The universe has definite design, order, and arrangement which cannot be sufficiently explained outside a theistic worldview. (This is how Abraham, without benefit of teachers, came to reject the chaotic world-view of idolatry and the possibility of atheism). 2nd man was "haadam" and was formed by the hands of GOD and not by a command given to the earth. FYI (haadam is the Hebrew word for "the man", and I believe this "special" man has a special purpose. Because through him, whom we call Adam, the Messiah would be born thousands of years later.

But Mary was chosen to be Jesus' temporary earthly mother because of her faith and devotion to her creator, (Luke 1:26-31, 37+38) and certainly did not consider herself 'greater than Jesus'. She , in fact, was one of his disciples later in life (Acts 1:12-14), and Jesus made sure someone would care for her in her old age, as he was dying.

Assume that things were different and you were a creature from some science fiction story - even though you swam in molten sulfur, were scaly and 4 meters tall you would still ask the same questions.
