What is the fastest interstate route between Birmingham Alabama and Denver Colorado?
Funny thing.. I ran an 18 wheeler for a fleet owner who was leased to CRST Malone (based out of Trussville), and I've had to make almost that exact run (except I went to Colorado Springs instead of Denver)... I wasn't on the Interstate the entire way, but if you want to take an entirely Interstate route, just shoot I20W/I59S to the I65N exit, run I65N to I24W.. run I24W into Illinois until you get to the I57N exit, then jump on I57N.. I64 terminates into I70 at St. Louis, and from there, it's just a straight shot across I70 into Denver.

What happened during the 1921 flood in Pueblo Colorado?
After losing a family member, I acquired a lot of old letters of all kinds. In reading a letter to my Grandmother from a friend telling her of the Pueblo flood and how she lost her father in that flood as well as a number of other friends, I got on line to see what I could find regarding this flood. I am quoting from this letter in the manner that is was written, having changed nothing. The letter was written on July 1, 1921 and posted from Pueblo, Colorado on July 2, 1921.
'the river had been rising for to days. then when the flood came it came in just a wall of water. 10 to 12 feet high. it left nothing in it's path. the news papers has never gotten half. this is something that can't be exaggerated. Pueblo is trying hard to keep things down for of course it hurts their city, however, there were about 3,000 lives lost. O there is not words to express the grief and sorrow the loss of lives and loss of prosperity. many bodies will never be found. we had a man and his wife working for us. they were drownded to. His body was found but poor Mary has never been found yet.'
This is not a lot of information, but is interesting in that it was written in the hand of someone who lived at this time and suffered through the loss and devastation.

What is the average cost per square foot to paint the exterior of a house in Charlotte NC?
If you are painting the area yourself, figure the square foot of the area being painted, not the floor area of the house, but the surface area. Divide that by 350 for all but the coarsest textured walls to discover the gallons of ordinary house paint needed to paint the house. Multiply that times the cost of a gallon of paint, as of June 2012, that's about $32 a gallon for a good quality exterior, and that will give you the cost of the paint to do a single coat. Double that amount for two coats, triple if you want a sealer and two coats of paint. For example, if your house has 1600 square feet of wall area, you'll need about five gallons for a single coat of paint. That would cost $160 for a single coat, About 500 for a complete paint job.
The labor cost of painting the exterior of a house in any area depends solely on the complexity of the job and the motivation of the painter to get the job. A good guideline for an average house is to multiply the cost of the paint by 3 and add that to the cost of materials to get the price of a professional paint job. Figure about $2000 to paint your house that has 1600 square feet of paintable surface area. If you get three estimates, they should be near that amount, give or take 10%.
Divide the 2000 by 1600 and that will give a total of $1.25 per square foot.

What is air pressure at Denver Colorado?
Air pressure is measured in different ways. Two common ones are PSI (pounds per square inch) or a barometer which measures in column inches of mercury. As we know the barometer goes up and down with weather so the air pressure goes up and down. The highest barometer reading ever recorded is about 32 inches or just over 15.6 PSI. The lowest barometer reading ever recorded was 25.69 in the middle of a hurricane so this is not typical but equates to about 12.5 PSI. These are all sea level readings. So we need an average, or normal. The standard is a barometer of 29.92 which equates to about 14.7 PSI, again being a sea level reading. With that standard the pressure at Denver is 12.1 PSI or a barometer of about 24.63. At this pressure water boils at about 202F instead of 212F.
Percentage of oxygen at 10000 feet level?
The percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere does not change with altitude, so it is about 21% at 10 000 feet. What does change is the pressure. This declines with altitude. At sea level the air pressure is about 101 kPa (kilopascals). Oxygen accounts for 21% of this so the oxygen pressure is 19.6 kPa. This means that there are less oxygen molecules in the same volume of air at higher altitudes. At 10000 feet the oxygen pressure drops to 7.2 kPa, which is roughly one third of the pressure at sea level. For an online calculator of oxygen levels at different altitudes see: http://www.altitude.org/calculators/oxygencalculator/oxygencalculator.htm This site also lets you convert between kilopascals and mm Hg. For further information about the effects of altitude see: http://anthro.palomar.edu/adapt/adapt_3.htm http://www.bmj.com/cgi/content/full/317/7165/1063
