Daughter is a cutter vilent since 12yrs old-now 17 yrs of counseling is worse you'd like to know what is wrong here?

Do you attend counseling with her to understand her problems? Do you sit and talk with her? Is she on drugs, illegal or otherwise? Have you brought up your concerns to her medical professional? Have you thought about a 72 hour evaluation? My guess would be that she feels utterly and completely alone, she probably feels that by you making her seek medical help that you are shunting her and that you don't care as much as you say. In my experience (being the cutter and the one with issues) it is better for the parent to attempt connecting with their child than to just say "I can't do it, let's get a professional!". Yes, that may seem more wise using today's logic, but in reality, it's not. If you talk to her you may discover that she is sexually promiscuous due in part to her feeling that her parents don't care and then she brings that baggage home with her and releases it on you. You may find that she has been raped and you didn't know, you may also find that she is on drugs that can alter her mood such as Methamphetamine. All of these are very real possibilities that you will not know about until you speak with her. Also, you need to listen, because even undirected cutting is a form of communication whether the child is saying how they feel, how they wish they could feel, how they think the were wrong, how they hurt, asking for your help through a difficult situation or any number of other things. You need to listen, too many parents refuse to listen and just pawn their children off on the medical community when all the problems could be resolved at home. This is not to say that more intensive treatment may not be needed, just that it would be wise to listen.

How many people go thorough depression from being bullied?

Research indicates that bullying significantly increases the risk of depression among victims. Studies suggest that approximately 20-30% of bullied individuals may experience depressive symptoms, with some estimates indicating that up to 60% of those bullied can develop mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. The severity and duration of bullying, as well as individual resilience factors, play crucial roles in these outcomes.

Is suicide infectious?

The idea of it may be but it certainly isn't a virus that you can get from being around someone. If you are around people who committed suicide or people who talk about suicide, try to get counseling. If your friend or someone you know wants to commit suicide, try to get them help as well.

It is "contageous" in the sense that depressed people who see or hear of other people committing suicide will be more likely to want to commit suicide as well. That is one reason to resist the urge to commit suicide, since someone may want to follow in your footsteps and do it too. It is even worse when the person is very popular or influential. Someone may reason, "If it is good enough for ______, then it is good enough for me."

If you Hate People Are you Emo?

No, just because you hate people, does not mean your emo, it just means your not really a people kind of person.

The answer to your question would be no, not all people that hate other mean they are emo and emo is not about hating people, so you can't call yourself an emo just by hating people. I would probably say you are a people-hater not an emo.

Which mental disorder means split mind?

That would be schizophrenia.

If you were to take a look at the etymology of the word, you'd find that it's in fact a contraction of two Greek words: schizein ("to split") and phren ("mind").

So, the word schizophrenia could be somewhat literally translated as "split-mind."

Does the recreational use of alcohol affect bipolar disorder?

Yes, when someone is in the depressed phase of Bipolar Disorder it can make the depression worse. When someone is in the manic phase it can lead to them being more impulsive and lead to taking greater risks than either alcohol alone, or mania alone. Also alcohol can interact with many of the medications used to treat Bipolar illness adversely. It should also be noted that people with Bipolar disorder will often self medicate with alcohol and other non-prescribed drugs when not adequately being treated. The degree of ones Bipolar illness will also be a determining factor in how much alcohol will affect one with Bipolar Disorder.

Why don't antidepressants help you with depression?

Don't worry. You're not the only one. I've been on and off of them for years now. For an antidepressant to be approved by the FDA, it only needs 2 more successes than placebos. Think about that for a second. You might as well be taking sugar pills. That's why the doctor tells you to give it 4 to 6 weeks for it to work. It's all in your head. Antidepressants are practically pills that do nothing but cause sexual dysfunction. I honestly think they're a joke. If you're depressed, try to get a stimulant. But that's very difficult IF you have a history of drug abuse that your doctor is aware of.

When does a person with multiple personalities disorder change their personality?

Most psychologist theorize that multiple personalities arise as a mechanism to protect the "real" personality from harm. Following from this theory, they assume that further multiples, which they dub 'alters', usually manifest during periods of stress. They believe these personalities to be limited, even archtypal, and to switch between personalities on triggers [either circumstantial events or certain triggering emotions], or at the command of the host [the 'original' person].

Other theories of note:

'Natural multiplicity', also known as 'healthy multiplicity': The individuals sharing a body do not arise out of any stress or trauma [though they may experience trauma at the same incidence as any other non-multiple individual]. Rather, all identities arise naturally. Different multiple systems may have completely different systems for switching primary control between members - some may even spend most of their time 'sharing' between one or more members. [Sharing is when two or more people are controlling the body, or taking control of different parts of the body, at the same time]. Some systems may appoint a member [not nescessarily the first or original member] to manage fronting [primary control] and sharing. Others may switch at each members will. Others might have an organized system of tasks at which each member automatically fronts, and then decide the rest democratically. There are countless ways multiple systems dole out how the body will be 'shared' or when a change in primary control will be conducted.

'Socially Induced Multiplicity': A limited form of multiplicity which can occur when a person mimics multiplicity or dissosociative Identity disorder on exposure to DID or other multiples. This is rarely done on purpose. The fragment personalities 'dissapear' when no longer for social interaction or social attention.

'Demonic possesion': While rare, demonic possesion can mimic multiple personality.

'Walk-Ins': The theory that multiples are outside souls, ghosts, demons, or other beings who 'wandered in' and took up residence.

Infidelity and borderline personality disorder?

What is it that you want to know about infidelity and BPD?

Are borderlines often unfaithful? Yes. Impulsive behavior in at least 2 areas (drinking, drugs, cutting, promiscuous sex, etc.) is a hallmark of BPD behavior and one of the DSM-IV symptoms of the disorder.

Not all people with BPD are unfaithful, of course, and anyone (not just a borderline) can potentially be unfaithful. However, the risk factor is certainly higher with a borderline than a non-borderline.

Why do you feel so sad when having recurring thoughts about things you did in the past?

That's probably nostalgia. If it's like you wish you could go back to that time or wish you could relive it all again, then yes that is most likely you being nostalgic. Unless you feel bad or regretful about doing something then that's probably be guilt. But that's just my opinion.

How to smile if your sad?

Sad can go away and so can smiles. If something makes you feel sad, then it's okay to show a sad face.

Some people can't smile when they are crying and are sad. Some can smile if they are always taught to be jolly at times like being sad.

Smile even if you don't know the reason. Smiles are beautiful but frowns are a very painful look to other people.

When I look at people and caught their eye, I smile easily. I know how to cry but not much. I feel sad but people don't see it coz i keep on smiling and laughing and thinking about funny moments.

After sadness, there are smiles, after smiles there are sadness and other emotions. It's like a complex cycle. A goes to B and B becomes C and so on.

Being sad is normal. If you can't smile when you are sad then forget about sadness. Let itself take care about itself. Stay happy and optimistic.

Are Capricorn's bipolar?

Capricorn individuals, like anyone else, can experience a range of emotions and mental health conditions, including bipolar disorder, but this is not inherently linked to their zodiac sign. Zodiac signs may influence personality traits, but they do not determine mental health. It's important to approach mental health with understanding and recognize that it varies greatly among individuals, regardless of their astrological sign. If someone is experiencing mood swings or other mental health issues, it's best to seek professional help.
