No! Grapes and raisins are toxic to dogs and puppies, it can cause acute renal failure (sudden kidney failure) with anuria (a lack of urine production). If a dog eats enough raisins and grapes it can be deadly.

This just really depends on your dog and her personality. All of our dogs nest before hand, except for one. She tends to nest after her pups are whelped. She is still a wonderful mother, she just chooses to do things differently. As a matter of fact, she tends to walk to her own beat no matter what the "books" tell you to expect on anything. If you breed two dapple dachshunds together the puppies have a high possibility of being born without or underdeveloped eyes, blind, and deaf. It is not worth the risk to create a double dapple dachshund. The poor puppies have to live their entire lives with those birth defects and its very hard to find them good homes.
