Go to My Computer>C>Program Files and in there find a folder related to your old anti-virus program. I.e. Norton, Symantec, etc. In this folder there should be another folder called Quarantine. Single click on the quarantine file, hold down shift on your keyboard and hit the delete key. This will permanently delete the folder, including all of the quarantined files inside.

How do you protect your computer from viruses?
First, you should get a good anti-virus software (and keep it up-to-date) like F-Secure, McAfee, Norton Antivirus, AVG, or Avast. Make sure they are kept up to date and that your subscriptions (if any) are active.
Second, don't open email attachments from people you don't know. Also avoid any websites that seem suspicious or appear in spam emails. If you get an attachment and it looks suspicious, don't open it until you confirm that someone you know did send it.
Third, disconnect your computer from the Internet when you aren't using it. If you have DSL or Satelite, either turn off the computer or unplug the cable to the modem. Having a computer run all day with a connection is an invitation to hackers and viruses.
---
The main way to protect your computer from known virus threats is to buy and implement antivirus software. A virus is a unique piece of code that has the ability to replicate and send itself to potential host through it current host. Or the computer that is already infected. Remember your computer is never completely safe but well built and up-to-date antivirus software will protect you from old and newly discovered threats. You can go to download.com and search for AVG 8 Free. It is very good software and is also free.
What do you do if you think your boss is trying to get rid of you?

How do you get rid of virus cookie-rub?
Whoa! Cookies aren't viruses, they are pretty harmless and, even after you delete, they will come back as you surf the web, so you'll keep finding them. That's normal.
You can control cookies through your browser.
In IE7, click on:
'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Privacy' > 'Advanced'
Allow First-party cookies and block Third-party cookies. First-party cookies are set by the web site you are actually visiting and some won't work without cookies enabled. Third-party cookies are set by e.g. advertisers on that web site, these are the ones you particularly don't want.
You could set First-party cookies to 'prompt' but you'll probably find it annoying after a short while.
If you're using Firefox, click on:
Tools > Options > Privacy
Accept first-party cookies, don't accept third-party ones, keep until you close Firefox and select to clear private data when you close Firefox.
If you use SpywareBlaster it will ban cookies (and ActiveX) from known bad sites:

GET AN ANTI-VIRUS PROGRAM, e.g. Avast *free*: http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-compare-h...
Spyware IS NOT "pretty harmless"
....just because you personally don't mind being tracked and spied on by EVERY type of buisness out there including the buisnesses in ALL other countries as well, doesn't mean you should be telling others that cookies are pretty harmless.
Cookies are only pretty harmless when concerning the isssue of them not acting like a virus, thus they are pretty harmless to the proper working condition of your pc/laptop and its operating system.

What sites cause viruses to the computer?
Any site can hold a virus, as long as you have a trusted Anti-Virus Program installed you should mostly ok. It is Important to remember though, that no anti-virus program makes you 100% safe. I recommend having avg and Malwarebytes. Together they will prevent and eliminate most viruses, spyware, malware, and adawares. Also, when running the internet, do not use Internet Explorer. Google Chrome is a little bit safer, but for the safest internet use Mozilla Firefox. When you download anything, it will scan it for viruses and also, AVG can be attached to Mozilla Firefox to scan websites for hidden viruses. The only way you can make you computer 100% virus free is to never use any connection (which defeats most of the purpose for having a computer). But in short, AVG, Malwarebytes, and Mozilla Firefox will keep you mostly protected. Keep the programs updated and scan regularly. Symantec Anti-Virus also works really good too...
