A fake virus is something that looks like a virus, but is a "contained virus" in a way because the user of the "infected" computer can just shutdown their computer, and it will be all good again. A good way to make these fake viruses are via command prompt (batch files), and java scripts.

Here's what I did..."try at your own risk": The Trojan notepad.exe is a bogus, so I simply deleted it. You may have to cut/paste to your desktop in order to delete it. Now do a search for notepad.exe on your C: drive. Or you may have to search manually. After you have found the "real" notepad.exe open a notepad document. Windows will say it cannot locate notepad.exe because the Trojan had windows configured to open the bogus notepad to the shortcut, and you have deleted it. Simply click browse and direct windows to the "real" notepad.exe...That's it. Windows will configure the shortcut back to the real notepad.

Yes, But Currently the only provider is trend micro.... Go to the browser press Traingle and go down to internet security..... You should be redirected to trend micros webpage. They offer a 40 day trial. They are quite costly, and on a ps3 it isn't really needed. If its privacy and child protection online-that's the only thing you will need it for.The main viruses are made for PC's. A ps3 cant really get a virus as it isn't a PC.

The programs used are photoshop and painter. For information on how to do it, I typed "speed painting tutorial" and found several excellent sites. I have provided the link to one of them.

I got the same problem on renamed the avpcc.dll to avpcc.dll2 .AVPCC.DLL is no Windows System Data DLL. I think it is part of the virus so you can rename it first and delete it later whene there no other errors appear.

Don't forget the Registration-Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows (I use Win2000). Delete at least the name with value "avpcc.dll" using the Registration Editor regedit. This will prevent Windows trying to start that dll at starttime. WP

All Trojan horses are hidden files so you would need to go to the Files Option (click the View tab)at Control Panel and uncheck both the *Hide file extension for known file types & *Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)-boxes, then OK yourself out. You will then need to restart your computer and and go into Safe Mode by holding the F8 key down -(kind of at the beginning of bootup). When you're at the DeskTop screen go to Start/ Search/ For Files and Folders and type up the NAME OF THE FILE & EXT i.e - AVPCC.DLL, you can delete this file from here. Also, make sure to empty your Recycle Bin.

I have had 4 Trojan horses on my C drive and kinda figured out the above method a week ago. I deleted the Temp file from the Restore folder after unchecking the hidden files boxes, then went to SafeMode to delete what virus files that were still there. My computer is now absolutely FREE of these pests!

I'm guessing that if your computer is currently trying to hold a lot of data, or you pressed a button (I'm not sure which) it either goes into emergency mode, or it shuts down itself.

The dll file could actually be the cause of you getting the downloader virus. First focus on deleting the dll file and then you can run a virus program to eliminate any other viruses on your computer. First find out what processes that dll file has attached itself to. Go to run and enter procexp. When that pops up go to find dll or handle and enter your dll file name. It will specify which processes it has attached itself. If it's not a vital process then you can kill the process and subsequently delete that dll file. If it's attached to the winlogon.exe or explorer processes then here are a few more steps. Right click on each process seperately and go to properties. Under threads you will need to right click and kill each instance of the dll. You will also need to do this with any handles listed. I had to suspend the winlogon handle. Then you should be able to delete that dll. If it's protected and you can't delete it. Move the file to another folder... I moved it to a new folder in My Documents. Then reboot and you should be able to delete that file. Good luck...

It should be possible to do what you want to do. Look on the rear of the DVR and see if it has RCA type connectors labeled, "out". There should be a red, white and yellow connector. The red is the right audio connector, the white is for the left audio channel and the yellow is for the compisite video out.

Composite video means that all the signals necessary for something like a VCR to record from and all you need is the appropriate patch cord setup.

It's "out" FROM the DVR to "IN" to your VCR. Just match the colors.

Put a tape in the VCR, locate the spot on the DVR you want to transfer, then hit the RECORD button on the VCR first, THEN the play button on the DVR. Record your video and then stop the VCR's recording. Play back the VCR's recording to make sure you have the video and viola, you're done.
