How has Taoism influenced followers and the society?

Taoism has been influential in China and bridges the gap between Confucian and folk religions. Other than that, in order to understand it and the influence it has on its followers and the society, I would suggest an Internet search be done. It appears there are opposing viewpoints on Taoism and how it influences its followers and society. See the Web Links, to the right under '''More Information''', for a couple of sites with distinctly different views. There are lots of others.

How were the indo-european migrants different from the cultures that already existed in India?

I think that you are referring to the Aryans, who were Indo-European invaders who conquered India about 1,500 B.C. They were nomads who entered India from the northwest. They came from Central Asia, most likely from what is now Iran or Afghanistan. They were either white or at least fair skinned. They were war-like and overran the Dravidian civilization that existed in India. They brought with them their own culture and language (Sanskrit). Modern Hindi is derived from it. They established the Caste system in India with themselves as Brahmins, the highest caste. The Dravidians made up the lower castes. They must have settled mostly in northern India as the people are lighter in complexion than the people of southern India. Even today. And Hindi is spoken in the north. In the south they have many other languages. The people who were conquered were mostly farmers and lived in towns. I hope that this has been a help to you.

What are the human rights under Indian constitution?

Human beings are rational beings. They by virtue of being humans possess certain basic and inalienable rights which are known as Human Rights. Since these rights are available to them by virtue of being humans, as such they come into existence at the time of their birth. The Constitution of India as adopted in 1950 provides certain rights to its citizens known as the Fundametal Rights(Part-3,article 14-35). These rights are similar to those rights which are provided in Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the rights provided in Iternational covenant on civil and political rights and international rights on social, econamic and cultural rights.

How do you move up in an Indian caste system?

In the Indian cast CASTE system you are borne into your cast ASTE (you inherit your cast ASTE from your parents). There is no way you can change your cast CASTE in your life time, indeed the Mahābhārata tells Hindus that to try and do so is to upset the cosmic balance.

Hindus believe that they are reincarnated when they die and that if they have lead a good life they will be reborn in the next life into a higher cast CASTE.

While the concept of cast CASTE runs against much of modern thinking it is important to recognize that the religion is theologically rich and mature, very ancient an very successful.
