Nothing specificially. It is a combination of DQ for Dragon Quest, with 'QVC' which is a real-life shopping channel. QVC itself stands for Quality Value Convenience.

To get the great sword, you need to do the awiergan scrolls quest. On the second part, there is a beacon on which you will find the sword.

If you told him about his curse, and he has run away from Scrimsley, then you have missed your chance to recruit him. You cannot find him after that. On no account tell him the truth, because he'll run away (you were heavily advised not to tell him, also).

What you needed to do is lie to him or simply not reveal the truth, before you go get the seeds of reason. Only after you get them, with solution in hand, should you tell Amos about it and give him the seeds. He will then join the party.

Grotto locations are always randomised, no one can tell you where it is, just from the name. Instead, find an online guide that you can match the picture on your map with, to find out the location on the world map.

Get S monsters, specifically you should get the Black Dragon. It is a mix of Great Dragon(obviously) and Bone baron(or something like that, definitely with a baron at the end and a rank A monster).Make sure you synthesize it with strong monsters with good attack, NOT HEALERS for the Black Dragon. I'm not forcing you to, but also you should probably get the Malaroth. There are two ways to synthesize it, look it up. No matter how boring it gets, train, train, train. You need strong S monsters. Talk to the man in red and gold robes on L1 of the Abbey twice. He will say something about the Abbot and tell you to ask around people. Go to B1, and there should be a man outisde the Inn, with robes on. Talk to him, say 'yes' and go through his talking. He will say he gave a fruit to the Abbot blah blah. Go back upstairs, view the mini thing with the fairy, and talk to the man in robes again. At the end of his talking he will ask you a question, say yes, and he will teach you the bow.

'Revocation' is when a character who is Lv99 in one vocation has their level reset to 1, by Jack of Alltrades Abbey.

This might not seem worthwhile since the character's stats go back down to that of a Lv1 in that vocation. However it means they can earn more skill points. As an added bonus, the first time your main character revocates in each vocation, he or she will receive an item from Jack, one relevant to that vocation.

Secondly, the quality of the treasure in grottoes will go up, the more the main character has revocated. By that I mean, an unrevocated character may never see a single 'S' rank chest in even the highest level grottoes. But one that has revocated 10 times may see several in a single grotto.

I actually didn't realize girls level up faster. All my guy characters level up before my girl ones do (My poor level 73 Aramentalist is so far behind my level 85 Warrior, martial Artist,and minstrel.)

'Whipping Boy' is a skill on the Warrior's 'Courage' skill set, it takes 8 skill points to unlock.

These are for the boss drop items. You'll always get a treasure map from the boss. Any other items which you collect after defeating the boss will be displayed along with the map, along with it's percentage of how likely the item was to drop. The items which the boss can drop are also displayed in the defeated monster list.

Equinox for example, has a 10% chance of dropping a Dragontail Whip, and a 2% chance of dropping Vesta Gauntlets. Once dropped, these will appear in those blank slots.

A paladin is one of the vocations that you have to unlock. A paladin is a holy knight - in DQ9 a Paladin is your 'tank', he or she protects his or her companions by intercepting damage aimed at them, as well as being tough and heavily armoured enough to survive it. Paladins can equip wands, hammers and swords, as well as shields, and can equip almost all of the piece of heavy armor. They can use moves that damage an opponent as well as heal HP and Mana.
