I bought a gamertag off eBay and they put a family setting passcode on which i don't know how can i find out what the password is?

Your best bet is to contact the Ebay seller you bought the gamer tag off of. I suppose Microsoft could help you, but I don't think buying gamer tags is technically 'legal' so you'd have to come up with a good cover story.

Is eBay or Amazon better in prices?

Ebay (Half.com) is much better for low cost books.

Let me compare the the benefits of Half.com, a subsidiary of Ebay, from both the buyer's and seller's perspectives.

The Buyer's Perspective:

On Half.com, you could buy a book at a base price of $.75 and then you can pay the media mail rate ($2.38) for shipping for a total of $3.13.

On Amazon.com, you could buy a book at a base price of $.01 but you must pay a flat $3.99 shipping fee for a total minimum of $4.00.

The buyer wins on Half.com

The Seller's Perspective

Half.com provides a full shipping reimbursement and charges sellers a flat commission ($.10) per copy sold. For a book that sold for $.75, the seller makes $.65.

Amazon.com provides a a $3.99 shipping reimbursement but then a commission that is based on some complicated formula that is at least $2.99. For a book sold on Amazon.com for $.01, the seller gets from Amazon about $1.01, which is not enough to cover the cost of shipping for that $.01 book. although the Amazon system can be quite fair for more expensive books, this system is very difficult to sell penny books. Making things more complicated, the USPS raised its rates but Amazon won't raise its shipping reimbursement.

****I personally prefer Amazon.com. It just seems better to me.****

What is the business strategy of eBay?

I think eBay's business model is pretty standard/common: they provide a marketplace where sellers and buyers meet to exchange goods and services. eBay makes its profit by charging a commission on sold items (as well as just having each item placed in the marketplace). eBay charges its fees to sellers, not buyers.

How do you become a success on eBay?

Firstly, I think the important thing is to do your research. Research on the type of products which you want to sell. See how much people are selling their stuffs, how big is the market and whether the thing you are selling is in demand. Its important to research on where to get your good cheap too. When you started selling, be honest, trustworthy and answer to the questions by the buyers promptly. This way, people would be able to trust you as a seller and buy things from you.

To sell secondhand things that you do not want and to save yourself some green by buying stuff brand new for sometimes 20% of the market price. But be careful because some of it is fake.

What does eBay mean?

It doesn't mean anything. eBay's founder wanted echobay.com but it was taken. The rest is history. It's possible he dug the name eBay as an ironic nod to the fact that eBay was first hosted on a site he had created for information about Ebola.

How does eBay's transactions take place?

First, the buyer either wins the auction by outbidding others or using the buy-it-now feature. The buyer then needs to send the payment via PayPal or Credit Card. Then, the seller will ship the item. Once the item is recieved, either the buyer or seller can leave feedback about the product.
