Does energy saving bulb have fillament?

No, energy-saving bulbs do not have a filament like incandescent bulbs. Instead, they use alternative technology, such as compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) or light-emitting diodes (LEDs), to produce light in a more energy-efficient manner.

What type of light is a 20 watt energy saving bulb Halogen Incandescent neon or fluorescent?

A 20 watt incandesent bulb is dim. For a medium sized room you need 100 watts.

A 20 watt halogen bulb is brighter but still quite dim. These are marketed as low-energy but they are not. For a medium sized room you need 80 watts.

A 20 watt fluorescent bulb can light a medium sized room quite brightly. This is a genuine low energy bulb.

What would happen when water is disappered?

... it probably evaporated. when molecules heat up, they gain enough energy to break the attractive forces with one another. This happens to water at about 212 degrees Fahrenheit, when water boils. When molecules break attractive forces with one another they move freely and independent of one another and become a gas.

What countries are 'energy independent'?

Some countries that are considered more energy independent include Norway, Canada, Brazil, and Australia. These countries have diverse energy sources such as oil, natural gas, hydroelectric power, and renewable energy that allow them to meet their energy needs domestically.

What energy conversions take place when fireworks explode?

When fireworks explode, chemical energy stored in the fireworks compounds is rapidly converted to thermal energy, causing the fireworks to heat up and ignite. This thermal energy creates heat and light, resulting in the colorful displays we see in the sky. Some of the energy is also converted into sound energy as the fireworks explode.

What percent of gasoline burned in an ICE actually moves the driver?

Working on Hydrogen On Demand system. We would like to know % gasoline burned in engine. Currently we have 70% burned with rest burned in catalytic

converters (2) for pollution control. We want to use HHO to get 100% burn as

HHO burns at 5600 degrees F. What is best answer?

HHO from electrolysis burns at abour 5600 deg. F. from our data. What temperature does gasoline and air burn in the engine? Seems hard to find

data.

- - - - -

It's not THAT hard to find the temperature...the adiabatic flame temperature (a theoretical construct that assumes no heat loss) is 3500 degrees F. In the real world it's about 2800 F.

The efficiency of a piston engine is about 20 percent. You've got to overcome friction in the engine, for one thing.

HHO is not going to help you get 100-percent fuel burn. There are a lot of reasons you don't get 100 percent burning - they intentionally put more fuel in the engine than can be burned (it's called a "rich" mixture) because if you have too much air, the engine runs real hot and burns up. If you throw HHO in there, you'll get 100-percent combustion of the hydrogen...but when you dissociate water into HHO gas, you provide a perfect stochiometric ratio of hydrogen to oxygen, so there's no more air in there to burn gasoline than there was before. (Having said that, you will need less gasoline per stroke to get the engine to move because part of the fuel is hydrogen...but your engine will need more gasoline because it requires more power to electrolyze water than the hydrogen and oxygen can return to you when you burn it, and the place you're going to get the power to electrolyze the water is from your engine.)

If it was me, I would forget about the overhyped HHO thing and put a really small turbo on the engine - not to get big big power, but to increase the amount of turbulent air flowing into the cylinders.

In a circuit the purpose of a switch is to?

In a circuit, the purpose of a switch is to control the current flow to the load by opening the circuit (off) or closing the circuit (on). When the circuit is open, the is no complete loop through which the current can flow. When the switch closes the circuit, it restores the loop, and thus allows the current to flow.

How can we protect ecology?

We can protect ecology by reducing our energy consumption, driving less, using sustainable products, recycling, planting trees, supporting conservation efforts, and advocating for policies that promote environmental protection. Small changes in our daily habits can make a big difference in preserving our planet's ecosystems.

Does fluorescent bulb act as grow light?

Plants grow well in the red end of the light spectrum. Fluorescent tubes come in many light outputs. Cool white which is in the blue end of the spectrum down to the warm white which is on the red end. Manufactures make a growlux tube which is used specifically for plant growth. Store meat counters are starting to use these tubes for display lighting as they enhance the red colouring of the meat on display.

Does a 100w light bulb use more energy than a refrigerator?

No, a refrigerator typically uses more energy than a 100W light bulb. Refrigerators are among the highest energy-consuming appliances in a household due to their continuous operation. In contrast, a 100W light bulb consumes less energy since it operates only when it's turned on.

Can you save energy by using tube lights?

Whether you'll save energy depends on how you will use the lighting. Tube lights tend to draw a high current when they "start up". If you intend on leaving them on for long periods of time then yes, you will probably save energy. But if you use them to turn them on and off a lot in a short period of time I would say no. That's the reason why a lot of big office buildings in big cities like New York never turn off their tube lighting at night.

How can energy conservation impact climate change?

When you conserve energy, you're not using as much of the fuels that harm the atmosphere as you normally would. How much would depend on how many people are conserving. One person conserving will not have as much of an impact as a million people conserving.

How has energy use changed over time?

Energy use has increased significantly over time due to growing population and industrialization. As countries develop, they tend to consume more energy for activities such as transportation, manufacturing, and electricity generation. This has led to concerns about resource depletion and environmental impacts, sparking efforts to promote energy efficiency and shift towards renewable sources.

What is one or two letters called that represent an element?

The chemical symbol is one or two letters that represent an element.

What type of local wind would you experience if you were standing in the valley explain your answer?

You would likely experience a valley breeze. During the day, the sun heats the valley slopes, causing the air to warm and rise, while cooler air from higher elevations flows down into the valley to replace it. This creates a gentle, upward airflow in the valley during the day. At night, the process reverses, and a downslope or mountain breeze occurs as the valley air cools and flows downhill.

What minerals are endangered?

Rare earth elements such as neodymium, indium, and dysprosium are considered endangered due to limited global reserves, increasing demand, and geopolitical factors. Other minerals facing supply risks include cobalt, lithium, and graphite, essential for electric vehicle batteries and renewable energy technologies.

Columns of warm air that are forced up as cold air sinks are A thermals B conductors C enzymes D catalysts E chemical bonds C?

A. Thermals

A Conductor is a material which allows either heat or electricity to pass easily through it.

A Catalyst is a material which speeds up a chemical reaction without being used up itself.

An Enzyme is a biological catalyst, i.e. a catalyst which occurs in living things.

Chemical Bond refers to the forces which hold atoms together in a molecule or material.

What abiotic thing do biotic things need to survive?

biotic things (living) need many things to survive. but some of the things they need are abiotic (non-living). like a fish, it needs water to survive. the fish is biotic and the water is abiotic. also all plants and animals need water, air, soil, food, sunlight and ideal temperature. these are all abiotic things.

How a skier gliding down a hill illustrates the conservation of energy?

because the skis are on the snow it causes friction which turns in to heat causing the skier to stop

What is the capacity to work known as?

The capacity to work is known as productivity. It refers to the efficiency and output of an individual or a group in carrying out tasks and responsibilities in a given time frame.

Allows the passage of water vapor and others gases into and out of leaves?

Stomata are small openings in the surface of leaves that allow for the exchange of gases such as water vapor, oxygen, and carbon dioxide. This exchange is essential for photosynthesis and respiration in plants.

Why summer time of water save?

People and plants require more water during summer months. People also use more water for recreational purposes. There is also typically less rainfall during the summer, therefore greater conservation efforts are necessary.

If you live in an 1100 sq ft apt and are moving to a 2-story 2200 sq ft house that's newer but doesn't have shade trees will the electric bill be twice as high because of the double square footage?

If you use more it will cost more. You may ask the previous owners for a past bill, if they have one to help with your estimate.

However, you may get some benefit of the home being two stories, particularly if you have separate heating and air conditioning for each story. That is because heat rises, and if you heat the downstairs, the upstairs may be just right. In the summer, cooling the upstairs will help with the downstairs area. Otherwise, the R rating of insulation, the number and size of windows in each room (unless double paned) and the part of the country where you live will make a difference. Plant some trees, but away from the sewer line and at least 20 feet away from the house for future savings.
