What are specifications?

Specifications are a list of requirements, features, constraints, etc. needed by a product for it to perform its task(s) correctly. They are developed by Systems Engineers in consultation with either customers and/or marketing. They are used by the Design Engineers (e.g. Electronics Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Software Engineers, Civil Engineers) to make sure the system will perform as desired. They are used by Test Engineers to develop necessary tests and procedures to verify, troubleshoot, etc. the finished products.

In other words specifications are a standardized formal language used to communicate between the various engineering disciplines working on a project/product so that they all agree and have a common understanding of that project/product.

Why is making a prototype so important in the design process?

A Prototype is basically a first draft for games, movies, TV shows, books etc. and people use them to see what they need to fix or add or remove

What is an example of how engineers have affected society?

Engineers are the builders and designers of the world. We get very little attention but what we do impacts every individual in society. Gasoline is produced from refineries designed by chemical engineers, building and bridges are up because of civil engineers and computer are getting better each day because of the work of electrical engineers.

We don't get much attention like doctors and lawyers but we do a great amount for society every single day!

What is important to engineers?

# observation of phenomena and development & making a quantitative measurement whenever possible

How do you prepare the materials in readiness for the marking out activities in order to enhance clarity accuracy and safety (such as visually checking for defects cleaning the materials removing burr?

1) When preparing materials in readiness for the marking out activities you can use things such as engineers blue to enhance the visibility of the lines and positions you mark on the work piece. You should also make sure that the material has not got any previous marks or lines on it so the ones you draw on are more visible and you do not get mixed up with the previous.

How are generators and batteries different?

== == batterys are stored. cranks are made

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While I can not argue with this answer I can add some to it.

If you are defining electricity as the flow of electrons in a circuit, then the general answer to the difference between the electricity from the battery and the generator is stored energy and produced energy.

The battery is always going to be DC (direct current) and a hand cranked unit almost always will be to. The primary measurable difference is going to be that the battery will be a steady voltage at a steady draw on it at least as far as the "life" of the batterys charge lasts.

The hand cranked generator usually also direct current, (unless it is a high end model with a built in regulator) will most likely vary its output voltage and amperage depending on the cranking speed.

Basically though the idea of either is delivering a flow of electrons steadily to the load, a light or motor etc..

AC or alternating current is produced differently and actually changes the direction of the electron flow very quickly.

What are Characteristics of a coaxial cable?

Optical-fiber systems have many advantages over metallic-based communication systems. These advantages include interference, attenuation, and bandwidth characteristics. Furthermore, the relatively smaller cross section of fiber-optic cables allows room for substantial growth of the capacity in existing conduits. Fiber-optic characteristics can be classified as linear and nonlinear. Nonlinear characteristics are influenced by parameters, such as bit rates, channel spacing, and power levels.

What is a term that can transmits heat and electricity easily?

I think the word you might be looking for is conductivity. Look up the definition and see if this word is what you are looking for.

What does an engineer design?

They usually try to make the car they are designing, more fuel efficient, safer, and try to come up with ways to improve the current design.

What is a square tool post?

tool post is used to handle the tool on the lathe machine

When was the first propeller plane made?

There are no operational scramjets in existence as yet. Scramjet engines have been tested but the problems associated with producing an operational scramjet have proven to be beyond technological capabilities to date. See the Wikipedia link below for additional information.

Is biomedical engineering suitable for girls?

i think it is better for everyone it is nt only suitable for girls it sis also suitable for boys but but both of character have to be work hard in this field bcoz as i knw ma father is laso a senior engg in mechanical firstly he passed out his 12 th frm cbse board the he had done his b.a after that iti in tool and die making today he is earning lot of amt.in pune guys if u want to do the mechanical engg then just focus on that and after that if u want to earn the the huge amount the just go to pune because in delhi here is nt good job for mechanical engg just go to pune see a large no automobile companies are overthere TATA,Mercedes, ets a large no of automobiles companies overthere there lot of girls doing work as senior mechanical engg guys if u want to do then just focus on that field.

What is a parabolic curve?

A parabolic curve is a curve where any point in the curve is an equal distance from two areas. It is an equal distance away from the focus, or fixed point and the fixed straight line, or the directrix.

What happens when you put steel into water?

Well when you put steel in water, the water will make the steel more softened, and then the rust starts forming cause the water dissolves the steel atoms then you have a red rusted steel metals.

What are the top 5 branches in engineering?

There are four branches of mechanical engineering. They are manufacturing, acoustical, vehicle, and thermal engineering. Vehicle engineering is further broken down into aerospace and automotive engineering.

What size of circuit breaker should you use for a lighting circuit?

To correctly size a lighting circuit, you must know the total power that the circuit will draw, in watts. For example, if there is 7 lights on a circuit, each light consumes 100W, that gives you a total of 700W on the circuit. Then you must know the voltage that is being supplied to the circuit. For this example, 120VAC will be used. To calculate the current needs for sizing the breaker, use the formula P=E*I, where P=watts, E=voltage, I=current/amps. So, in this example, P=700, E=120, I is unknown. After working the formula, you have an answer of 5.83 A. Breakers generally come in sizing increments of 5A.....5A, 10A, 15A, 20A, etc. The answer for this example was 5.83A, so the 5A breaker is obviously not enough. The next size is 10A, which is more than the calculation, but you must also consider that breakers are designed to operate at 80% capacity for periods of time over about 3 hours. So for an office atmosphere where the lights will definitely be on for longer periods of time than residential (in most cases), you would need to make sure that the total Amps needed is equal to or less than the 80% of the breaker size you have chosen. A 10A breaker is only designed to provide 8A of capacity for longer periods of time. So for this example, a 10A circuit breaker would be properly sized. You must also abide by the NEC code for maximum number of fixtures on any particular circuit. Refer to NEC for that information. If you were to change the light fixtures to a larger size, such as 200W each, you would then find that you need to also change the breaker and possibly the wire size that is run through the circuit, to maintain compliance with NEC.

Where are bevel gears used?

They are used when the angle of rotation needs to be changed. The rotation of a vertical rod can be changed to rotation of a horizontal rod by the use of beveled gears.

<><><><><>

bevel gears ARE two the wheels together or just two two wheels so pretty much you can find bevel gears in objects like ....

can opener

cars

in a hand drill.. and many more
