What is an average price for commercial grade carpet?

How much a foot for commercial carpet

Mark Twain said that "One foot on fire & one foot on ice & on AVERAGE your pretty comfortable" I share his view that average is a pretty illusionary tool when it comes to being really useful.

Commercial is a very vague term & can mean a lot of different looks & uses, so this is the generic, general purpose answer

Nylon & Level loop lasts a long time, Nylon cut pile smooth not so much

Polypropylene carpet is very stain resistant & cheaper than nylon but doesnt keep its looks as long...

There is no one price, & no one quality, could be junk for about a buck a sq ft or premium stuff for $6-10 or more a foot.

Here's a good rule of thumb, assuming you shop for value and don't over pay..

Expect 3 years of good service for every $1 you spend on carpet, (not pad or labor) per foot.

$1 buck/ sq /ft= <3years of good service

$2 buck Sq/ Ft= <6 years & so on..

the warranty will be for more than my estimation but warranties on flooring are not worth the paper they are written on..

Most stores offer free estimates so what does that cost you to have someone put an actual product with an actual quote.. you can always say no thanx

How many 16 x 16 square feet tiles will it take to cover 100 square feet?

How do I figure a room for 16X16 tiles?

The concept is confusing but the math is pretty simple...

· Tiles are sold by the square foot not by the tile..

· Measure the room & round up to the next foot, ie.. 11' 6" just write it down as 12'

· If the room has offsets or halls, just remember to treat it like another room & do the length X width of each area. Then add them all up.

· Box will tell you how many sq feet is in a box, so you are paying by the foot, but buying by the box........

· Each 16X16 tile is 1.778 sq feet

· 16X16 tile will likely be packaged in a box with 9-11 pieces per box..

· Usually about 14- 18 sq feet per box depending on the makers preferences...

· By way of example if your room is 12X12 that's 144 sq feet,

· Divide the sq feet by how many sq feet in the box & you know how many boxes..

· Add about 7-10% to make sure you have enough....

· 12"X12" is DUH 144 sq inches & 1 sq foot

· so multiply any tile size by its 2 dimensions ie 12X12 or 16X16 & that = the sq ft per tile.

· 13"X13" is 169 sq inches divided by 144 sq inches in a sq foot =1.174 per tile

· 18"X18" is 324 sq inches per tile divided by 144 sq inches per sq ft= 2.25 sq ft per tile

· 20"x20" tiles are 2.778 per tile

· 24X24 tiles are 4 sq ft per tile

Soooo once you know the sq feet you need, add a little for waste & breakage & ooops cuts & you will have enough..

The fact that a good tile setter starts in the middle of the room & works out also means you may have a fair bit of cutting one all the walls but a centered look is much better and likely allows you to use the pieces up.

How many 16 by 24 inch tiles do you need to cover a 142 square foot room?

Let's do everything here in feet instead of inches because that is what the final room is measured in.

16 inches = 1 (1/3) foot = (4/3) feet

24 inches = 2 feet

So a 16 by 24 inch tile = (4/3) feet by 2 feet tile = (8/3) square foot tile

So now:

142 square foot room / (8/3) square foot tiles = 52 (1/2) tiles

Can you use mop n glow on pergo flooring?

You can but it isn't going to do much, laminate is designed to have a low luster/Shine and the mop & glow will likely look more streaky than shiny.. you are trying to shine a floor that isn't supposed to shine...

It will leave a heavy residue and make the floor look extremely dirty.

How many 20 cm by 20 cm tiles you will need to fill a 24 square meter area?

24 m2 is the same as 240,000 cm2. As each tile is 400 cm2, the number of tiles required to fill the area is 240,000 divided by 400, which equals 600, so you will need 600 tiles.

How do you identify a Persian rug versus a Oriental Rug?

All Persian rugs are Oriental rugs, but not all Oriental rugs are Persian. In order for an Oriental rug to be Persian, it must have been made in the country of Iran. Iranian rugs can come in all different types of styles, colors, weaves, etc. and it can take years of experience to be able to tell the difference, so it is really best to just inquire after the rug's country of origin when trying to figure out if an Oriental rug is Persian or not.

225 square feet of tile the tiles are 5 inches squares and are packed 75 to a box what is the minimum number of boxes of tiles?

18 cases

Math:

each tile is 5in X 5in = 25 square inches per tile

25 square inches per tile X 75 tiles per box = 1875 square inches per case

1875 square inches per case / 144 square inches per square foot = 13 square feet per case

225 square feet in the room / 13 square feet per case = 17.3 cases or 18 full cases.

How many 18x18 tiles do you need for 40sq ft room?

Calculating how many tiles in a room

· 12"X12" is DUH 144 sq inches & 1 sq foot

· so multiply any tile size by its 2 dimensions ie 12"X12" or 16"X16" divide by 144 & that = the sq ft per tile.

· 13"X13" is 169 sq inches divided by 144 sq inches in a sq foot =1.174 per tile

What is average cost per sq ft to have a floor leveled?

Labor Prices

Fees & charges change from town to town, region to region, the best ways I can suggest to find a good range is :

Run a short ad in Craigslist, that will likely get you someone hungry & maybe unlicensed so you will know the cheapest price.

Then call the local Home Depot or Lowes & ask what they charge if you buy your tile from them???

That will be the highest price in the market

Now you would have a good range & then its time to look for quality & references... a steal on tile or a great price on labor, can be VERY COSTLY if you give the job to a butcher..

My bet will be you will find someone on the low end at about $2 per sq ft & that the depot will be $6-8 bucks a foot after they do all the add ins...

Get it in writing...Never pay for it all upfront
