For the most part, it's just like any other vehicle you've driven, with the exception of having air brakes. If it's a manual, it'll either be an Eaton or Spicer six or seven-speed transmission, which is synchronized, and shifts the same as a manual transmission in a passenger car (although the shift pattern itself is different, with reverse in the position normally used by first gear in a passenger car). The automatic will be an Allison... you just push the "D" button, use the arrow buttons if you want to restrict your gear, etc. The yellow knob is the brake control valve for the air brakes.. the air pressure in the primary air system needs to be at least 60 psi in order to have substantial hold off pressure for the spring brakes before you can release the brakes.

remove the steering wheel. unbolt the collar that holds the steering column underneath the dash. that plastic box halfway down the column with all of those wires hanging out of it is your ignition.

The older Broncos Have a lever in the middle of the floor board up front. Just pull the lever back to go into 4Hi, back more for Neutral, and then again for 4Lo.

The newer models had a button on the dash that you push to put it in 4x4. If you do not have automatic locking hubs on the front wheels you'll have to get out and manually lock them to engage the front wheels with the front axles...otherwise the trasfer case will just spin but no power will be conveyed to the front wheels. Locking the hubs is quick and easy. Just turn the knob a quarter turn in the direction that says "LOCK". Be sure you don't drive on pavement at speeds over 35 mph with the 4x4 engaged and the hubs locked. Turning sharply on pavements or driving at high speeds with 4x4 engaged can damage the transfer case and/or front suspension components.

It is on the frame rail just under the drivers door. It sits inside a metal bracket with a large hose clamp. Mine has the "hair-pin" fuel line connectors that are easy to pull out the tabs and remove the filter.

on these they should be a silver cannister shaped alot like an oil filter. under the body connected on the fuel line from the tank. will have gas line running into and out of it.
