the futura has a more fancier interior and trimming everything else is the same, falcon usually comes out with window winders and the futura electric windows but might only be for the front not the back

Look at your realys next to your battery and check them all

Id check the vacuum booster behind the brake master cylinder. I have seen cases of boosters on fords cracking causing the booster not to work properly. Resulting in a hard pedal and hard to pull up the car.

Also the hose to the booster and the check valve where the hose connects to the booster.

5 litres bone dry fill, 4.5 litres if just changing oil + filter, 4.2 litres if just dropping the oil out.

disconest the battery,remove the bolt in the adjuster arm then take out the 2 bolts from the gen. to engine gen mounting bar

It doesn't mater.

Bad sending unit, corroded wire from the sending unit to the gauge, faulty fuel gauge are a few.

Weak spark is most commonly caused by a weak ignition coil. The coil needs to be tested and replaced if necessary.

Original tyres were 600-13 on xk but changed on XL to 640-13 if my memory serves me correct (over 45 yrs seen i owned these cars)

It is usually fairly simple to remove the boot strut on a BA Falcon. Simply remove the metal clips that are on either end of the strut. If the clips are rusted into place, however, you may need to clean them first.

What year? On 1961 Six cylinder, the front of the block behind the fan. Very obvious.

I've replaced ignition switch, and starter solenoid, checked fuses, and battery, but I don't seem to be getting any electrical through to start the engine. I can jump everything and get the engine to turn over but not start.

The size of the front speaker are 5'x4'. You can get adaptor plates to fit 5" speakers. Premium audio also has tweeters. They are pop riveted to the a pillar which is more difficult to replace.

You need a flashlight and pliers. Crawl under the dashboard. On top of the brake pedal you see the switch and the push rod. Remove the yellow clip. Slide the switch sideways, the brake switch comes off. Look where the plastic spacers are before you remove the switch. Unplug the switch

Ford part number for the switch is E73B-13480-AA

usually it's the horn pad that fails. that's why the horn goes off. you need the replace the horn pad to fix the problem. or you could just disconnect the horn like most people do to shut it up!!!

Be aware that these models of fords are designed to have the horn make a strange noise, if you try to lock doors and they are slightly ajar. The 'Smart Lock' will make the horn sound, to let you know that the door is ajar and that the vehicle is not locked.

I agree that in this case, the issue is more than likely caused by the 'Horn Pad', but cannot agree with disconnecting the horn. I find that the horn is a vital part of any vehicle and would suggest that the 'PAD' be replaced. May be expensive to fix, but you never know just when you will rely on your horn to save your life and it's not working.

pretty straight forward remove the thermo fan unit by undoing the two bolts at the top onto the radiator and the two wiring plugs on the passenger side and lift it out. "when removing serpentine belt i always draw a map so i know how to put it back on" use a 3/8" drive ratchet in the hole on the belt tentioner to release it and remove belt. undo the radiator hose from the water pump by undoing clamp. from there you need to remove the four 10mm bolts that hold the water pump on these can all be accessed without removing other front end components you will just need a medium sized extension on a 1/4" drive ratchet, once undone you will need to pull the pump forward releasing the water pipe from the rear of the pump, once removed make sure to clean the mounting surface of old gasket and anything else that may cause the new gasket not to seal, and make sure there is no o'ring on the water pipe to go into back of new pump.

reinstalling the pump is also just as simple take the new o'ring supplied with pump and place it in rear water inlet being sure to remove old o'ring if it has stayed in there, then using a gasket cement i use a non hardening aviation cement paint the gasket both sides place on the new pump " will only fit one way so check all four holes are aligned then place one bolt through a top hole and a bottom hole keeping both the gasket and backing plate in place put the pump in position by firstly fitting the water pipe into the back of it then doing up all four bolts until tight, refit the hose and do up clamp refit belt using diagram you have drawn leaving the crank pulley to last is usually the easiest way then using 3/8" drive ratchet on tentioner again to loosen belt over pulley. if you don't draw a picture of this it will be hard to refit belt but doable basic rule if pulley smooth the back of belt runs on it if ribbed the ribbed part of belt runs on it". place the thermo fan unit back in making sure the bottom pushes into clips to hold it do up the two top bolts refit the two wiring connectors and fill header tank with coolant .

You need to have a 3/4 ratchet and a piece of pipe to slide on ratchet handle. There's a square socket in a tensioner arm, insert the ratchet into a socket, slide the pipe on ratchet hanle and rotate clockwise. This will relieve the tension off the belt so you can take it off (easier to slide it off the water pump pulley). It gets a bit tricky when you need to take it off the tension pulley, a lot easier if you take the fan assembly off the radiator first.

I assume that you are talking about the seat squab, or base.

There are clips welded to the floor. These clips look a bit like the number 1. They face towards the rear of the car though. Metal loops on the underside of the seat base hook under the top part of the "number 1".

To unclip the base, you have to firmly push the base down and rearwards, then upwards. This sounds harder than it is.

To clip the base back in, you need to carefully line up the loops on the sloping part, at the top of the clips. Then push the base down, firmly. You will feel the loops slide down the slope and then pop under the clip.

The backrests should unbolt. Just flip them forward and you should find bolts under the carpet. Although, you probably wont need to remove these, if fitting seat covers.

The side bolsters are held in place by a bolt at the bottom and by the striker plate, for the backrest lock.

That normally happens if your alternator is not charging, or if your Battery cell is faulty. This will result to your car not starting. One always leads to the other. Do one of 3 things, check if your alternator brushes are still in good shape. Check thetension of your v-belt and that the alternator is tightly installed. Have your battery checked out at your nearest battery centre.
