It means that either your battery is cactus, or there is a problem withe the alternator. To add a little detail to this, first check your battery is putting out 12Volts by putting a multimeter on the terminals. Next run some basic alternator checks for faults, these tests can be found on the net quite easily. You may have worn brushes which aren't properly contacting the slip rings or a stuffed regulator. These two parts are often very cheap throw away items. Otherwise it's a wiring problem or a problem with the stator, armature or capacitator in the regulator which would mean its time for a new regulator or at least a reconditioned one. Make sure there's no loose earth leads!

You can't do this job by your self without adequate knowledge of ford falcon engine, required 2 other people to assist, and numbers of tools set.

Put the vehicle on a flat floor, do not forget to free the transmission, brakes and disconnect the battery. Prepare a suitable wrench, big screwdriver, oil tray, solid car strut.

Remove all of the oil into the oil tray completely, but do not be moved because it will still be used to accommodate.

I'm assuming you mean the inhibitor switch. ie the car shouldn't start in gear for auto trans.

it's located on the passsenger side of the trans. it's the plastic unit which the gear shift selector goes through.

I've only ever used Valvoline Type 95LE. you will propbably find most fords with four speed autos all use this from at least ea right through to at least the au falcons. I'm not sure about later or earlier off the top of my head but i can find out easily.

no need to loosen the lines. only simple tools needed. move stuff out of the way, and bang it out. watch what your doing and try to understand it. its very simple, look at it one part at a time On a 2.0 litre engine the alternator belt is blocked by the front belt that drives the power steering pump. You need to remove the power steering pump belt to get to the alternator belt. For both belts there is a tension bolt mounted on the power steering pump and the alternator, respectively. Loosne that bolt to relieve the tension on the belts and then remove them. Replace the belts and tighten the bolts to the proper tension. There is not much room to reach the alternator tension bolt so you may have to unmount a few hard powersteering lines to reach it.

You need a balancer puller to remove it , It don't just slide off.
