First check your oil. when was it changed last what colour is it? It should be red. Badly contaminated oil in an auto will lead to slip.

I had a problem perhaps similar to yours on my 91'. The transmission shop said it needed a rebuild but they would not test anything except to road test and it never slipped during the road test. after living with the occasional slip into neutral for years a mechanic finally diagnosed the problem as one or more failing solenoids. The expense of replacing a solenoid is prohibitive and perhaps more than just buying a used tranny with low miles and swapping. I got one with a year guarantee for four hundred but have not installed it yet. Sometimes solenoids will work abnormally with a bad contact or may stick due to corrosion. It is worth cleaning and checking the contacts first.

on the 2006 models of the ford fusion. the radio antenna is embedded in the back glass with the rear defrosters. It's important to know that when installing aftermarket radio you should connect pin 5 on the radio harness to a switched 12v source. If not done this will cause problems with radio reception! pin 5 is the antenna's booster power wire and was originally powered off of the stock radio but the aftermarket radios do no supply this power source. I reccommend using a relay and the remote antenna wire and 12v constant wires off the new radio harness to make this connection! this will allow the the remote wire to switch the relay on and off when the radio powers on, and connect the the tapped 12v constant wire to the antenna booster power! thats how i would do it!

Pop up that little square next to the gearshift on the right side and press the button inside with a screwdriver. That's the shift interlock defeat. It's in your manual.

MAKE SURE HEADLIGHTS ARE OFF!! the low beam headlite. pass side go to the pass side wheel well. there is a panal there (look towards the front of car) unscrew the panal and remove. take bulb out, replace bulb. put the panel back on.

under the car there is a plastic panel that has to be removed. once that is removed you will see the oil filter cap. mine has the soft filter and o-ring washer that gets replaced when you change the oil. i believe it is a Allen wrench bolt head that holds the filter inside the cap. hope this helps.
