What does the offspring look like when an organism is cloned?

No because though the parents are copys the offspring would be 2 sex cells (egg and sperm) and those 2 cells are unique made by the clones body.

What is the role of cloning in genetic engineering?

Genetic enginering is the transfer of DNA from one organism to another. By doing this organisms can be produced that have useful traits. For example, the human gene for insulin was put into bacteria, resulting in the production of a bacteria that produced insulin as a waste product. This break through allowed us to produce large quantities of human insulin for dibetics.

What is crossing over why is it important in genetics?

Meiosis is the process by which most organisms produce gametes that are used in reproduction with half the number of chromosomes of a normal somatic cell. During the first stage of Meiosis, Prophase I, there is a homologous chromosome for every chromosome that codes for the same traits but may have genes that code for a different form of that trait. Without crossing over, each new generation would inherit an identical set of chromosomes from each parent. During crossing over however, two homologous chrosomes will connect via a chiasma at the same region along each chrosome to form a tetrad. Once joined, genetic mateiral from one chromosome is traded with another, forming chromsomes with a mix of traits from both parent chromosomes. This process allows for increased diversity and is necessary for the maintainance of an evolving society.

What is the methodology for producing recombinant DNA to be used in gene cloning?

1. A vector such as plasmid is needed along with a host cell. Restriction enzymes and DNA ligase are enzymes that are used to introduce foreign DNA into a vector.

What is molecular cloning?

cellular cloning is the process of making a populaion of cells from a single cell. cellular cloning is the process of making a populaion of cells from a single cell. cellular cloning is the process of making a populaion of cells from a single cell.

How can cloning be used?

Theoretically By cloning A plant or animal you end up with a copy of the original plant or animal. For instance if you were to clone all beef cattle from parents that gave terrific beef industry could alway be assured of the quality of a given strain of beef. this would be of great advantage to the growers of meat. The same can be said for the growers of plants and fruit uniformity in quality is very important when it cums to the bottom line.

What new ways are there of cloning?

A world wide breakthrough occurred recently when a scientist named Samuel Wood cloned himself. Although the embryo clones, about the size of a pinhead, survived only five days, it was proven that the actual creation of human clones WAS possible and may later serve to cure many hereditary diseases. Why is human cloning unsafe?

If something goes wrong, it could turn out all deformed and be kind of like an evil scientist project or something. The person or animal can go through mental problems, depression, etc. Plus think about this: Imagine you seeing yourself growing up and doing the things you use to do as a kid. Cloning is just crazy and stupid. Then the scientists or whatever could use the clones for bad things who knows.. But I think cloning is whack. Lol!

How are bacteria being used in genetic engineering to produce medicine for people?

  1. They do yo mam
  2. They get ho preggo
  3. She has da babey
  4. You da babay dadday
  5. you murder the babyy
  6. You spend yo lyfe in prison, only to escape in 2020

How cloning works?

1

Eggs are coaxed to mature in a culture dish. Each has a remnant egg cell called the polar body and cumulus cells from the ovary clinging to it. 2

While an egg is held still with a pipette, a needle is used to drill through the zona pellucida, removing a plug. 3

After ejecting the zona plug, the needle is inserted back in the egg through the hole to withdraw and discard the polar body and the egg's genetic material. 4

A cumulus cell from another egg is taken up into the needle. Cells called fibroblasts (or their nuclei) can also be used in this step. 5

The cumulus cell is injected deep into the egg that has been stripped of its genetic material. 6

The injected egg is exposed to a mixture of chemicals and growth factors designed to activate it to divide. 7

After roughly 24 hours, the activated egg begins dividing. The cells contain genetic material only from the injected cumulus cell. 8

By the fourth or fifth day, a hollow ball of roughly 100 cells has formed. It holds a clump of cells called the inner cell mass that contains stem cells. 9

The blastocyst is broken open, and the inner cell mass is grown in a culture dish to yield stem cells. 10

The stem cells, in turn, can be coaxed to grow into a variety of cells that might one day be injected into patients.

What is the slippery slope of sin?

Slippery slope of sinOne sin begets another. A person sins and they "get away with it" (not really because God knows all and sees all) so they sin some more before you know it they are slipping farther and farther away from God and it becomes easier and easier to sin. Picture yourself standing next to God and sin is like you walking away. You sin more and more and watch God disappear away from you in the distance except as you sin more and more you stop looking back. God calls you back and some turn around to run back others become deaf to his call. AnswerSome seventy years ago, there was in the field at the back of my home a "Slippery Slide or Helter Skelter". It was very high to a little fellow, but it will serve my purpose in answering the question. If we take each step towards the top of the slide as a temptation of Satan, we soon begin to enjoy the thrill of just how high we had climbed towards the thill that awaited us at the top. In those far off days, our bread came wrapped in greased proof paper, we found by sitting on this paper and sliding down the slide we could go faster. Now we are at the top of the steps and found the temptation of going higher most rewarding, but the big thrill was to come, the long fast ride to the bottem where; as he had promised Satan would catch us. We launch ourselves off and whizz down the already greased slide. Faster and faster towards the waiting arms of Satan. But he is not there to catch us, so we land on the hard ground with a very painful bump. Why wasn't Satan there, he promised he would be. He kept his promise that we would find the ride thrilling, as so we did, but why did he not catch us? The fast ride down to his kingdom was all that he really wanted, now we are there we suffer the pains of our foolish pride; and the worst part of it is, we cannot climb back up the far to slippery slide, we have to find another way. We have to start climbing another stairway, the stairway of repentance, the stairway to heaven. way. AnswerEcclesiastes 8:11 (King James Version)11Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

In other words, people think they have gotten away with sin, so they keep going further and further until they are 'hooked.' Then it is too late. Unless, of course they repent, but often a hardness can set in which makes it difficult for such to turn to the truth.

What is electroporation?

Electroporation, or electropermeabilization, is a significant increase in the electrical conductivity and permeability of the cell plasma membrane caused by an externally applied electrical field. It is usually used in molecular biology as a way of introducing some substance into a cell, such as loading it with a molecular probe, a drug that can change the cell's function, or a piece of coding DNA.

Did people put sawdust on there breakfast kippers to improve the taste?

Sawdust is made from wood which contains cellulose- cellulose is not digestible by the human body (unless we had special microbes in our gut like termites)

So I can't imagine doing this for flavor but perhaps it may have been useful for preservation of the fish?

What are the disadvantages of human beauty?

I would like to add to this forum. I am a very good looking man that has no problem attracting girls. I would say that I could probably have any girl I wanted, that is if the terms were right. Here is the problem. Being good looking might get you into the door, but as far as networking goes, it is hard for me to develop genuine relationships between people. I can make friends easily but they are not real friends. They do not keep make efforts to keep in contact, or if they do, very small efforts. When it comes to women, I am automatically looked at as a player and yes I do think this is devastating when it comes to meeting women. I might be able to go out and dance with, interact with and do things that more average looking might do, but in the end, I am already prejudged regardless of what I do or say. So in a way its like i have to prove myself to them. I don't play games and I am a very sensitive man who knows how to communicate. Regardless of these features it is extremely hard to break the surface. The only exception would be if I were HONESTLY into the girl. Then I would have to pursue and pursue, play the game and then MAYBE take her out. It might look like we have all the fun, but it's very frustrating in the end. Also, look at the compatibility issues, if you want to see the other side of this, I can go out at night and see maybe one or two beautiful women of whom I am genuinely attracted too whereas the average man can have his pic. This makes it more difficult to meet someone whom I am sexually attracted to. It might sound overly confident to some out there but this is a fact of life. I have NEVER been with a woman I am SUPER attracted to, lots of pretty girls, nice girls, average girls, but never a gorgeous girl. This girl, when I find her, will be the one I marry. So it might seem like the good looking guy has it all together, but in reality he struggles the same or more than your average guy. I could even send twenty emails out to average girls or more so attractive girls and get maybe two responses? three at most? it's a joke! reality check guys, women look beyond the surface, we like physical, they look for personality and security. that is what is real!

== == When some people are absolutely beautiful it can actually be a detriment to them. Others who are interested in them will often not ask them out because they fear rejection. Many of the beautiful people are vain and work on their outer image and forget about their personality or their soul. They can be so caught up in themselves they become selfish and hurtful to others less fortunate. Because of the above someone that is beautiful or handsome that have these qualities as well as a great personality and have fine qualities about them, but often the stigmatism is there portraying them as vane, useless, selfish and would cheat on a dime given half a chance (because people are attracted to beauty.) If the person is vain because they are extremely good looking they fear getting old and have an extremely hard time dealing with this adjustment. Often they will seek plastic surgery and only end up on a merry go round. This leaves little time for them to help others or be part of giving of themselves. Beauty in a human being is a form of art (I don't mean Playboy), but actually looking at a beautiful woman or handsome man and studying their features. It's a magnificent creation of art. Often we forget that. However, what most of us can miss is that the soul (sometimes captured in paintings) is what counts and makes the whole of the person. As they say, 'Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.' If you have beauty and nothing else and spend time looking in the mirror at yourself instead of working on the inside of oneself then beauty simply fades and the person ends up being an empty shell.

Where on the transparency does cloning occur?

Cloning on transparency occurs during the S phase of the cell cycle, where DNA is replicated. This process involves the separation of the DNA double helix and the synthesis of new complementary strands. Each resulting daughter cell receives an identical copy of the original DNA molecule.

What is Obama's opinion on cloning?

I dug this out of my recycling bin just for you, so enjoy! :) Anyways ... Obama co - sponsored a bill (s. 1520) in 2005 that would allow the cloning of human embryos to be used in research, but prohibited placing them in wombs. Essentially, he's for particle cloning. On the other hand, McCain stated on his campaign website that "opposes the Intentional creation of a human embryos for research purposes"

What is the meaning of amplification of gene?

Gene amplification is the process of taking a very tiny sample (in some cases as few as one molecule of DNA) and rapidly generating a sample of millions or billions of identical molecules of DNA.

This process must be entirely acellular, so that the sample is not contaminated with unrelated DNA. The most commonly used technique of gene amplification makes use of PCR (polymerase chain reaction) that makes use of a DNA polymerase enzyme derived from a virus. PCR only requires adding this enzyme and nucleotides to the DNA then cycling the temperature of the mixture up and down a little, each of these temperature cycles doubles the number of copies of the desired DNA molecule.
