What did George H Mead contribute to sociology?

George Mead developed the Stages of Self in Sociology. This is a theory of Social Behaviorism to explain how social experience develops an individual's personality.

The "self"is the part of an individual's personality that is composed of self-awareness and self image. The self concists of two parts. The "I" and the "me".

The I, is basically the way we see ourselves.

The Me is how we think others see us.

The I and Me are a dual perspective with the subject (I) doing the viewing, and the object (me) being viewed.

Its all about balancing our individuality out with what society wants us to do.

What controversy happened between the Dixie Chicks and President George Bush?

In response to the Invasion of Iraq, March 2003, The Dixie Chicks (Natalie) in the middle of a concert in England made some anti-Bush comments. Like "They were embarrased and ashamed that Bush was from Texas" and made some remarks about the U.S always wanting to go to war.........................But it was a major thing because people in England were bashing the United States and Bush and it seemed like the Dixie Chicks jumped on and supported that bandwagon. Fans felt betrayed. Correction: some fans felt betrayed. Many more agreed with the statements. After that, there was an attempt to blacklist the Dixie Chicks. Some Country radio stations boycotted their music. The Dixie Chicks stood their ground, and went on with their careers. At the 2007 Grammy Awards they sang a song titled "Not Ready To Make Nice", in defiance of the attempts to pressure them to apologize. Now it's 2009. The Dixie Chicks are still around, still singing. Score one for Freedom of Speech. "I apologized for disrespecting the office of the President," says Maines. "But I don't feel that way anymore. I don't feel he is owed any respect whatsoever." -- Time, 5/21/06" Haha, Natalie is pretty damn brave to stand her ground like that. A very admirable woman.

Why is Bush hated?

Because he took a crap on the U.S. Constitution and broke many laws in trying to achieve his fascist state. The "Patriot" Act for one which was passed by the Bush administration severly limits the free speech rights of U.S. citizens as they can be detained for anti-American speech under the Act. Also, the fact that he started a war over oil and his perverted imperialistic ideals which is the result of thousands of dead U.S. troops which all have families, mothers, fathers and siblings, as well as thousands of innocent Iraqi's. This is just the tip of the ice-berg.

I don't understand what is wrong with discouraging free speech when it slanders the country we live in. Boo Hoo it's not politically correct, well get over it, free speech is definetly important don't get me wrong and yes it was the bases for the founding of our nation, but our nation is becoming week because we are being ripped apart from the inside out by people who burn the flag and more than take advantage of the libertys they are given, and the crazy thing is they take these liberties for granted. To answer the question (in a more neutral manner) everyone hates Bush because of the war in Iraq and that there is a strong possability that he could have lied to our nation. And if Obama commits more troops to Iraq he will get sh*t on as well, just like Saddam said "the Americans have no stomach for war" and that is very true.

Did George Bush senior increase the debt?

Yes, George H.W. Bush's administration did contribute to an increase in the national debt. During his presidency from 1989 to 1993, the national debt rose significantly, partly due to increased spending on defense and domestic programs, as well as a recession that affected government revenues. Despite his commitment to reducing the deficit, his inability to control spending and the economic challenges of the time led to a notable rise in the debt.
