There is nothing worse than getting a lot of gifts you either don't like (won't hurt the person's feelings and ask for the bill so you can return it) or, you give money in this case so the parents can either put the money in a savings for the child, or, buy something the child wants in the line of toys. Any amount goes. Whatever you can afford is just fine. You can also give gift certificates for children to special (in restaurants) or playlands.
