How much did a gallon of milk cost in 1979 and what does it cost today?

4$

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics (US BLS) publishes the average price of a gallon of milk each month. The price is the average price charged in grocery stores within large US cities. You can see the recent prices for milk and many other consumer food items at the BLS website. data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/surveymost?ap

As of this month (Jan 2015) the average price is $3.76 per gallon. During the past decade, the lowest average monthly price was $3.00 per gallon. And the highest was $3.96 per gallon. In small towns with low costs of living, especially near dairy farms, you can find lower prices. In places with high costs of living the price is much higher than the BLS average. Those areas include densely populated cities (e.g, Manhattan or San Francisco) or outlying areas with high costs for importing milk (e.g., Hawaii, Key West, Puerto Rico) where the price can be $6 to $8 per gallon.

What are pathmark's hours on Christmas day?

This year Pathmark is beating up their employees by taking them from their families on Christmas morning. Christmas day OPen at 9:00am.Sorry Santa. Hahaha! To whomever wrote that, what a drama queen. First off, not all Pathmarks are open the same hours, some may be closed Christmas day. Second, if you want to go home and cry, you can do that. The rest of us need to earn a living. Third, it's at-will employement. Nobody's twisting their arms to come to work. If you can't or don't want to work, go find a job with a more flexible schedule.

Lastly, and most importantly, NOT EVERYONE IS CHRISTIAN. To some of us - including all three founders of Pathmark who were Jewish - it's just another Wednesday. It means absolutely nothing. I wish my company was open on Christmas, I could use the money!

PS: Santa's not real. Sorry.

How is it more cost effective to eat dinner as a family?

Not only does it bring the family unity back together, but, if all eat at the same time then there is no waste of food. If mom, dad and one child sit down for dinner and 2 teenagers are not there for dinner it's more than likely they will come home and raid the refrigerator. Sometimes moms just get tired of cooking so they may buy more fast foods if the whole family doesn't sit down to one meal.

It depends on the brand, check with the manufacturer. Gluten may be "hidden" on the nutritional label under names like "modified food starch" or "natural flavors."

If the ingredient list specifies that the starch is from corn and does not list natural flavors, your odds are better, but it is still best to check with the manufacturer.
