I found an app called Zimly on the Play Store and I use it to stream media to my flat screen TV. Zimly works as both a media player and a streaming player, and by using the app with Chromecast I can stream media to my TV.

They modified it to deliver 540 lines to each eye in 3D mode so in fact, it has reduced quality significantly from the movie theater systems in use back then and today. It makes it difficult to imagine an engineer inventing something that has been around for two decades.
