How many Jews did the first commander estimate to have killed at Auschwitz?
The 1st Camp Commander of Auschwitz was Rudolf Hoss
Here's a quote from his statements about the death tolol at Auschwitz
"I commanded Auschwitz until 1 December 1943, and estimate that at least 2,500,000 victims were executed and exterminated there by gassing and burning, and at least another half million succumbed to starvation and disease, making a total dead of about 3,000,000. This figure represents about 70% or 80% of all persons sent to Auschwitz as prisoners, the remainder having been selected and used for slave labor in the concentration camp industries. Included among the executed and burnt were approximately 20,000 Russian prisoners of war (previously screened out of Prisoner of War cages by the Gestapo) who were delivered at Auschwitz in Wehrmacht transports operated by regular Wehrmacht officers and men. The remainder of the total number of victims included about 100,000 German Jews, and great numbers of citizens (mostly Jewish) from Holland, France, Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Greece, or other countries. We executed about 400,000 Hungarian Jews alone at Auschwitz in the summer of 1944"

There was no group such as 'The Jews'. The Nazis tried to suggest that there was a global Jewish conspiracy, but there was no system i which Jews from different places were bound together.
So 'The Jews' did not ever plan to assassinate Hitler.
Why were the Jews so effective in disrupting the Nazi activities?
presumably you mean ineffective.
Because there was no 'Jewish conspiracy' and they did not act as one unit.

I don't know the exact wording, but the idea of it said that, we could be set free if we signed the paper that was given out almost daily, and that included giving up being one of Jehovah's Witnesses and worshippng Hitler rather than Jehovah. Hope that helps. :)

Basically, the Nazi's were saying 'If you renounce Jehovah as your God and Jesus Christ as your leader, and acknowledge Hitler as the now reigning Messiah on earth, then we will release you from this camp and immediately put you at the front lines with weapons to kill those whom we tell you to kill.' This was a failed ploy to shake the integrity of faithful Witnesses during that dark time.

In total, there were over 540 Jewish ghettos in the entire Nazi empire, which sent the majority of the Jews to their deaths. Over 2 million Polish Jews died in the death camps, which operated in conjunction with certain ghettos. Most ghettos were 'closed' (sealed off with high walls and barbed wire) as in the case of Lodz, Czestochowa, Warsaw, Krakow while others remained 'open' as in Sosnowiec, until the actual deportation of Jews occurred.
Did Hitler force Jews to become Christians?
No. Nazi hatred of the Jews was based on race and not religion. Additionally, the Nazis would find anyone who was even 1/4 Jewish by blood and persecute them, even if they were devout Catholics or Protestants.
______________
The Nazis saw the Jews as a race, not a religion. The Holocaust wasn't a matter of religion.
