Where is the starter on a 1992 Honda Accord LX?

when you are standing in font of the car looking into the engine compartment it will be to the left side of the motor...look for a green housing and that will be the starter...if its not fuel injected it will be right below your air filter housing on the left side of the engine bout where the motor and tranmission join...good luck

When 89 Honda Accords leak oil from the engine where does the oil leak from most often?

In general, for all smaller engines, in decending order: Valve cover gaskets. Oil pan gaskets. Main crank seals and camshaft seals. Head gaskets. If your engine is greasy from top to bottom, it's most likely the valve cover gasket. (On a v engine, you have two.) To check, get a can of engine degreaser from Napa (smells like kerosene), and with a cool engine, spray it clean. Let dry. Use your car for a day. Look for source of leak. Cost: 3 bucks for the spray. Results: A clean engine, and you find your leak. Clean around your oil filler cap too, and inspect the cap's seal. Use a funnel, and wipe up your mess when changing the oil--that keeps everything that much cleaner too.

What does it mean when the d4 light and park light stay on when your 1992 Honda Accord lx dies?

Do you need to change air bag module when replacing a deployed airbag?

SRS AIRBAG AIR BAG MODULE

"If you want to replace it, bad idea, that will be ALOT more costly. I had my original SRS module sent in for a reset. I just googled a company called www.myairbags.com and they reset mine for $55 and shipped it back to me free of charge, I hooked it up and it works like brand new! and I saved about $560.

When I start the engine in the morning it's doesn't make noise 'til i put the gear to D or R. Then it knocks 'til it warms up. Why is that and is serious The car is 05 accord with 30k miles?

try using a lighter weight oil. Under no load the engine seems to run fine, because it has enough oil on the cylinder walls for no loadd. When load is applied it needs more lubrication, which isn't possible because the oil is cold. Like the consistency of cold syrup. When you warm syrup its easier to spread. What fram oil filter fits a 1996 Honda Accord?

Good grief. Don't buy Fram in the first place. There are plenty of websites that have taken Fram filters apart and done side-by-side comparisons with cheaper filters like AC Delco and found that Fram is just about the crappiest oil filter on the market. Advance house brand is called Drive Worx and they are significantly better built.

Anyplace that sells oil filters can tell you the correct size to buy. I also agree with the above post, and Fram would not be a filter I would buy. I personally use Purolator filters.

Where is starter on 89 Honda Accord?

follow the positive wire from your battery and it plugs into your seloniod which is connected to your starter.

What would the effect be from changing the wheel offset from 55mm to 45mm?

The stock wheel has a 55 mm positive offset. Positive offset means that the wheel is tucked into the fender well 55mm more than it would be if the bolt flange of the wheel were perfectly centered in the wheel. Negative offset means that the wheel will stick out of the fender well more.

So........ If you reduce (55mm-45mm) the positive offset my 10mm, your wheels and tires will stick out of your fenderwells 10mm further than the stock wheel, assuming that the aftermarket wheel is the same width as the stock wheel.

What does it mean when the red battery light comes on in an 1986 Honda Accord?

There is a problem with the charging system. Usually this means the alternator is defective, but not always. Repair immediately or you will be walking. If the light is flickering while at idle speed, but stays on solid while driving , or if you have oil leaks in the front of the engine, I have seen oil get on the alternator belt wich will cause it to slip, once the belt starts slipping it does not turn the altanator fast enough to charge wich will make your light come on in the dash , I have seen this a hundred times, so i would inspect the belt for oil on it before i spent the money on a new alternator. you can fix by cleaning or replacing the belt, but you should also find and fix the oil leak or this problem will arise again.

How do you program the garage door opener in the 2001 Honda Accord?

According to the Owners manual, for a 2000 Accord LX, (2001?),page 84-86. You must have a garage door remote control! Press the desired key to use on the Honda panel and the remote key. The Honda panel red light will begin to flash slowly at first, then rapidly. The key code should now be learned by the Honda transmitter, and open/close the door.

To expand on this you can hold the first and third buttons on the HomeLink transmitter for your car to erase any old codes that are stored in the transmitter. Hold the first and third buttons for at least thirty seconds, or until the LED light in the HomeLink symbol stops flashing and stays on solid. You can find out more for your particular model and year of car on the HomeLink website located here: http://www.homelink.com/programming/programming.taf

How do you replace the speedometer cable for the 1986 Honda accord?

Easy. I have an 87 Accord, so it's probably similar. First you find the speedometer cable that runs across the top of your engine and into the side of the transmission. On the other end it enters the fire wall right where the instrument cluster is. You will unclip the end that is attached to the transmission and pull the cable out. In my case, the broken end was at the other end by the instrument cluster. You have to just start taking out screws to get take out the instrument cluster. Once you get that out, the cable simply clips in there as well. Viola, replace the cable. Easy. I have an 87 Accord, so it's probably similar. Where is the oil dipstick on a 97 Honda accord?

Open the hood and look around. It is right there in front of you on the engine. If you cannot find the dipstick then you need to shut the hood and seek professional help. You have no business under the hood of your Honda.

Wilke339's answer:

If your Accord is 4 cylinder, the oil dipstick probably has a yellow pull ring handle, and is located toward the driver's side of the engine, up high near the top belt pulley.
