The car idles very high for about 8 seconds then gradually idles down again
to normal, then idles up and down, you have to have one of your feet on the brake an the other on the gas pedal, it also shoots out black smoke out the exhaust pipe.
very scary to drive, but once on the freeway it drive good, but if you let go of the gas pedal slightly, it will jerk suddenly, get a new one or get one from an auto salvage
to make sure that it is your problem, then go buy a new one, good -luck, I am going to try several from the salvage yard till I find a good one that actually helped me with this problem, then I will go get a new map sensor also."speedon55@hotmail.com".....

depends on the year, my 96 and 97 are located on the drivers sdie fender well and have 2 large plugs going into them
No it does not have traction control.
The speaker covers should pop right off (with maybe a little CAREFUL help of a flathead screw driver). Then the speaker itself will be held into the door with three or four screws.. Take the screws out, pull the speaker out a little and unplug the speaker wire. HTH, Chuck
Any D, B, K series. If you have the cash, you can have it.
The distributor takes the electrical output from the coil and sends it to the spark plug. The rotor is the device that transfers the electricity from the coil wire to the spark plug wire.
As u r facing the car w/hood open the air filter housing is on ur left side. Usually a big black square looking box. There are four clips that hold the top part to the housing. Just pull the clips away in a dwn ward motion. Lift the cover and change the filter out. Once that is done just do the reverse to complete air filter replacement.
Theoretically yes. But it may also mean greater chance for detonation so be careful.
The brake light fuse for a 1995 Honda Civic is found in the cabin fuse box. The fuse is labeled as STOP.
The first thing to do if one cylinder is not firing on a 1989 Honda Civic SI, is to disconnect the battery. Then remove the spark plug wire and the spark plug. Check to see that there is no oil on the plug and it has the right gap measurement. Then replace the spark plug and wire and try the engine again. If it is still misfiring, change the spark plug. If that does not fix the problem, have a compression check done for that cylinder.
When the RPM of a car drops down and stall there is an issues with the air fuel ratio. The engine should be checked for vacuum leaks,
Coolant is coolant. If you feel like it, buy more expensive stuff, but it really doesn't matter. If you have to mix the coolant with water, make sure it is distilled water, as the minerals in tap water will collect inside the system and may deteriorate hoses. You can also buy pre-mixed coolant that doesn't require dilution with water. You must never, ever, put coolant that contains silicates in a Honda for you will ruin your water pump if you do. You have two choices: "all makes all models" coolant that's available from most auto parts places (be careful of AutoZone's "Valucraft" brand; this isn't all makes-all models), or Honda Genuine coolant. Strangely enough, the inexpensive "SuperTech" coolant Wal-Mart sells works fine. And yes, definitely mix it with distilled water.
the b16a2 is alot better because it is a DOHC(dual over-head cam) VTEC which makes 160 hp. the d16z6 is a SOHC(single over-head cam) which makes about 110-120 hp.
Sounds like you need to have the throttle body linkage assembly cleaned and adjusted. The only other way to do this is to disable the choke linkage assy. but I do not recommend that, especially if you live in a part of the country that gets really cold.
