How do you turn off your air bag light on 2001 hyndai sonata?
Don't know whether it's the same issue or not, but I've got a 1999 Sonata and there was a factory recall for the airbag sensor. The defective sensor was causing the "airbag" light to stay lit constantly. I was told to take the car to the nearest dealer and they would replace the sensor with a good one although I never did.
How do you change the high mount brake light in a 1994 Toyota Camry?
Here's how to access the high mount stop light on a 1996 or 1994 Toyota Camry sedan. Readers have reported it works on some related models and years too.
First of all, I will define "forward" to mean the direction that the car moves when you're driving forward. You won't need any tools, just a new 921 bulb and your hands. All work will be done from the back seat.
The flexible plastic cover is held in place by two hooks, each of which keeps the cover from moving up or forward. The hooks are molded onto the forward part of the cover, but they are on the inside so one can't see them until the cover is removed. (Unfortunately, this makes it really difficult to "figure out" how to remove the cover!) Vertically, the hooks are centered on the forward part of the cover, and horizontally each is located 1/3 in from the edges of the forward part of the cover.
Put your thumbs on the forward part of the cover and push hard; you will need to deform the plastic away from you about 1/4 inch in order to release the hooks. You will not hear or feel the hooks release. While still pushing, start moving the cover up. Then slide the cover along the glass of the rear windshield to remove it.
The reflector unlocks by gently lifting up on the two plastic tabs on top while pulling the top of the reflector towards you. Lift the reflector out. Remove the bulb by sliding it straight up.
Hope this solves it for you!

Why do 2007 Hyundai Sonata rear brake lights burn out often?
A recall was issued in April 2009 regarding the brake stop lamp switch, this could possibly be the cause of your burn out. Because one of the effects is your brake lamp not turning itself off when you release the brakes, therefore a constant burning lamp will not last as long.
Recall Date: APR 15, 2009
Model Affected:2007 HYUNDAI SONATA
Summary: HYUNDAI IS RECALLING 531,894 MY 2006-2007 ACCENT, ENTOURAGE, SONATA, MY 2007 AZERA, ELANTRA AND SANTA FE, MY 2005-2007 TUCSON AND MY 2007-2008 VERACRUZ VEHICLES. THE STOP LAMP SWITCH IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES MAY MALFUNCTION. A MALFUNCTIONING STOP LAMP SWITCH MAY CAUSE THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED OR MAY CAUSE THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO REMAIN ILLUMINATED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS RELEASED. A STOP LAMP SWITCH MALFUNCTION MAY AFFECT THE OPERATION OF THE BRAKE-TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK FEATURE SO THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO BE SHIFTED OUT OF PARK POSITION. IT MAY ALSO CAUSE THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) MALFUNCTION LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE, AND IT MAY NOT DEACTIVATE THE CRUISE CONTROL WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED.
Consequence: THESE MALFUNCTIONS MY LEAD TO A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE STOP LAMP SWITCH FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING APRIL 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HYUNDAI CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER AT 1-800-633-5151.
Potential Units Affected:531894

Where is the output speed sensor on a 1999 Hyundai Sonata?

Where is the input speed sensor on a 1999 Hyundai Sonata?
The input speed sensor is located on top of the automatic transmission near the engine. The connector points straight up and has 3 wires. The air filter and housing need to be removed to gain access to the top of the transmission. The battery needs to be removed in order to gain access to the 3rd bolt holding the air filter housing in place. There are 3 bolts that hold the housing in place. The sensor is held in place by a 10 mm bolt. You may have to clean the area around the sensor in order to reveal the bolt.
How do you replace a power steering pump on a 1987 Chevy G20 van with a 305?
Does your van have the serpentine belt? If so maybe I can help, I replaced the Power steering pump on my 90 G20 a couple of weeks ago.
The trick is that you need to pull the pump pulley which is pressed on to access the mounting bolts which attach the pump to the engine.
Harbor Freight tools sells a great tool designed for this job for $20.00.
Once you have the correct tools, remove the serpentine drive belt. You may also need to remove the fan shroud.
the pump shaft looks like it has an Allen socket in the center, but this is for use in the manufacturing process, and will not come out.
Place the puller tool on the pulley following the instruction that come with the tool, and remove the pulley.
loosen, but do not remove the nut on the high pressure hose connection.
use a pair of dyke pliers to cut and remove the crimp clamp on the low pressure hose.
If your pump has the remote reservour loosen the clamp on the reservour hose also.
Remove the three mounting bolts, place a large pan under the pump to catch drips, and remove the prevously loosened hoses. there will be fluid leaking all over and the pump should come free,
There are two types of replacement pump sold. With and without reservour. This reservour is a metal cover that fits over the back of the pump, and should not be confused with the reomte revervour found on some newer models which is next to the battery.
This reservour is held in place be two throught the pump bolts which are removed at the back of the pump. If your new pump has a reservour you will probably still need to remove these bolts and put them in the replacement pump as most are shiped without these bolts.
If you replacement pump comes without a reservour pull the bolts, the reservour should pull off of the old pump and slide onto the new one. check the o rings and replace the through the pump bolts.
Installation is the reverse of removal execpt that 1/2" hose clamps replace the crimp clamps on the low pressure hose, and the puller tool is set up differently to replace the pulley.
Finally if you don't flush contaminants out of the system your repair will last maybe a week. www.cardone.com has a great article about power steering flushing, read it before you start
Good luck

Where are spark plugs in a Hyundai Santa Fe 4 cylinder?
I have a 2004 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L 4 cylinder and I just changed the spark plugs in it. I believe that the Santa Fe 2.4L engine is the same as the 2.4L Sonata engine.
To locate and change the the (4) spark plugs on a 2004 Hyundai 2.4L 4 cylinder engine:
Remove the (4) 12mm bolts from the decorative plastic engine cover. Remove plastic cover from engine and place it off to the side out of your way.
Standing in front of the car, the (4) spark plugs are located laterally (left to right) in the recessed area underneath where the plastic engine cover was removed.
Note: This engine has (2) coils....They are located above spark plugs number (2) and (3) from left to right.
Starting with the fist spark plug on the left: Remove the spark plug cable by pulling straight up on the insulated connector. Using a spark plug socket, remove the old spark plug and install a new one in it's place.
To access the second spark plug from the left, remove the electrical connector and the spark plug cable wire from coil number (1) and then remove the (2) 12mm bolts that secure the coil to the engine. Spark plug number (2) is located directly under the coil. Lift the coil straight up removing the insulated connector from spark plug number (2). Using a spark plug socket, remove old spark and install a new one in it's place.
Repeat same procedures for spark plugs number (3) and (4).
