How do you unflatten the layers on paint.NET?

Undo (Ctrl+Z)- even if you have saved the image after flattening. But undo undoes the operations stack so if you did other things to the image after flattening then you will have to undo all those before you can undo the flattening.
This will not work if you close the image after saving!

Best computer configuration for graphics designing?

Some graphic designers will work with double monitors.

Some graphic designers use a graphic tablet, such as those by WACOM. These are extremely helpful.

Some graphic designers use a graphic monitor, such as the one by WACOM, in which you can draw directly on your monitor into the software with an electronic "ink pen."

A good graphics card is necessary for larger projects. A designer just starting out has it much easier than we did in the 1980s. What has not changed from 1988 to 2008 is the basic requirements from your computer: speed, memory and disk space in massive amounts. What HAS changed is the nature of what home computer users do with their machines. People like to run first-person shooters, download music and watch videos on their computers, and they don't like to pay a lot of money for them. Therefore, in the Year Of Our Lord 2008, you can walk into any computer dealer in America, close your eyes, turn around three times, point and say "that one," and get a computer that's going to work really well for graphic design. I'm back from old fogey land. Here's what you'll need: 1. A computer. As I said, any new one will be fine. Make sure you've got at least 4GB RAM and 160GB of hard drive in it--at least 250 if you're constantly running paying jobs on the machine. 2. An internal DVD-RW drive with Lightscribe. I have a Samsung SH-201 in my computer. This drive isn't Mac-compatible for OS X 10.4 or below as it comes out of the box, but a free program called Patchburn (http://www.patchburn.de) will make it so. If you're running Mac OS X 10.5, the OS natively supports the drive. I use the drive because it's really fast--at the time I bought it, it was The Drive To Have. Lightscribe is nice because Sharpies and stick-on labels scream "Amateur!!!" and there's always something better to do with the money an inkjet disc printer costs. 3. A scanner. At minimum you need a flatbed scanner--the higher the resolution the better. Be sure to make some scans on the one you're considering because some scanners produce ugly results. 4. A printer. Color or black & white doesn't matter. This MUST be a laser printer, and it MUST be a PostScript printer. PostScript printers give the best results. 5. A very good, color-accurate monitor. Those are the basics. From there you can go all out--calibrated monitors, color measuring devices for building ICC profiles, film scanners, large-format printers, graphics tablets, all sorts of really wild stuff. Also don't be afraid to throw the mouse and keyboard that came with the machine in the trash and get better ones. I did.
There are many software/hardware you can use to make/edit graphics, some are...MS Word, Corel Paint Shop Pro , MS Paint and MacroMedia Freehand.(which is software) You also can use a skanner, camra, you need a mouse if your going to draw one, a grapics tablet and so on. =) hope this helpt,,, and yes i am only 15 xD

How do you convert all pics in a folder from gif to JPEG format?

There are several ways to do that in Photoshop. Simplest way is to use Image Processor from File > Scripts > Image Processor. Another way is to use File > Automate > Batch but you must record action first. Also you can create droplet from action from File > Automate > Create Droplet. Droplet is mini application which you can place in any folder and drag images onto it to process multiple images. Again you must be familiar with actions to record action for Batch processing and Droplets.

How do you return the layer box on Photoshop?

If the Layers palette is missing, you can return it by clicking on the "Window" menu near the top of Photoshop, then selecting "Layers" to ad a checkmark next to it, indicating that it is now visible.

Photoshop also allows palettes to be un-docked from the program and dragged around anywhere on your screen, not just in the Photoshop window, so if you have a dual-monitor setup, make sure that you didn't somehow hide the palette on your second monitor.
