What is rastor image and vector image?
Rastor images/Bitmaps are images that consist of individual pixels. Memory is a pixel image file format which uses a low ammount of memory due to poor quality. When you emlarge a pixel it reduces the resolution. This would be a good example. Bitmaps are used for windows based systems because it is a basic file with low memory usage.
Vector images consist of indivual shapes and use a low ammount of memory because it is a simple image like a drawing used by shapes. you can modify it without losing quality. Vectors are good because they are a small file size wth unlimited zoom without loss of quality, but they cannot produce photos well. Vector images are used for myspace sites or used as a background in a default picture.

How long do you train to become a 3d modeler?
It depends what software package you are using, what you want to do and how many hours a day u spend practicing and going over tutorials. If you use 3ds Max, I'd say about 4 months. Lightwave 3d takes about a year for a beginner. Maya is the best and takes around 2 years. Avoid Cinema 4d, Blender, and Sketchit as they introduce bad habits and are rather weak(not industry tools or standard either, don't lets their low price tag fool you; they get really slow with huge scenes and Cinema 4d in particular sucks at realistic reflactions and secularity) . Try to stick to Either Autodesk Maya or Lightwave 3d as both are good in the industry and both are powerful tools. If you want to be real good you might take a bit more than listed if u are a beginner. Once you learn one, others are easy.

To use GIMP's healing tool, identify the blemish you would like to remove. This works best on small areas of the image that are discolored. Next, identify a more desirable texture or color that you would like to mask the blemish with. For example, if I were editing a girl's portrait and I wanted to remove a blemish on her nose, I would select a patch of nearby skin that matched in color.
To select the "patch", hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and click the desired area. Let go of the Ctrl key and move your cursor over the blemish. Click to insert the patch onto the blemish.
Keep trying at the healing tool. It can be hard to master in some scenarios, but you will soon be a pro. It is a versatile tool that I use on virtually all of my photos, be they landscapes, portraits, macros; you name it!

What is a good program to make animations - Adobe Freehand or Adobe Photoshop?
Well, between the two of those, I would go with Freehand, just for the graphics.
For animating, you would want to use a vector-based drawing program for at least all of the moving parts. That is, if you are animating in 2D rather than 3D. You could use Photo shop for your background (the scene) if there are no moving parts (animations) in the background, and you would rather try to make the scenery appear more realistic. However, using a vector-based program for the background is also a better idea. Suppose you have a ringing phone, shaking in the scene - it would be easier, and better, to do this along with the rest of the background in vector rather than raster. Photo shop is raster. Raster is difficult to animate at a good quality.
Above either of these programs, I would recommend Adobe Flash for animating. Adobe Flash can do everything from the drawings to the actual animation of the graphics via a time line and effects you can apply.
