directly below the button you push on the shifter to move it into gear is another little button that operates the o/d light.

It is very simple to check the transmission fluid in an Infinity i30. There is a dipstick located at the top of the transmission that you will pull out. Wipe the fluid off and put it back and then pull it out again to read the level on the dipstick.

3 Screws on the bottom of the panel, 1 screw under the operation panel on the arm, 1 screw under the mirror control switch, pop the panel off from the door and remove the electrical connectors.

When you pop open the hood, look at the side of the engine on your right (driver's side). Underneath all the air intake duct that connects to your air filter is the EGR valve. It may have a grey plastic top with an electrical connector attached to it (this top is about an inch and a half to two inches in diameter), a middle section below this that is made from a silvery metal with two rubber hoses plugged into it, and below this a bottom section with a metal pipe maybe three quarters of an inch in diameter connected to it. The metal pipe curves around and goes back behind the engine. There are two bolts that the valve is mounted on. To remove the valve, first you have to get a bunch of hoses and stuff out of the way to expose it, then disconnect the hoses and electrical connector from the valve, then disconnect the metal pipe connected to the base, then remove the two nuts on the two bolts. There is a gasket between the EGR valve and the engine which you will have to replace. It cost less than two dollars, good luck and hope this helps. WHen installing just do everything on revers. If you not sure if you can recall how the hoses goes back, take picture with your cell phone as reference.

Just twist the square switch body about 45 degrees counter-clockwise then it will slide out of the bracket. Note that at least on the 2001 model, there are two switches on the brake pedal - I think that one is for the cruise control and the other is for the stop lights. They have different wiring connector configurations.

In the bottom part of the intake manifold, towards the end of black pipe. It is the needle type not the cheap kind.

It is possible that the tiny electronic momentary switches that activate each of the keyless entry functions have gone bad. Usually they don't all go bad at once but the one most used (Lock and Unlock) may begin to fail first and it may seem like you have to push real hard to get it to activate. It takes a bit of electronic prowess to unsolder these micro switches that are mounted on the small printed cirsuit board located inside the plastic housing, and install the new ones. I did it and mine now works fine. I had to locate the switches online. I drive a 2000 i30t which is a few years newer than a 1996 and three of the four micro switches had gone or were going bad. It may be prudent, if you dont want to go through all that I went through to accomplish this, simply to go through the nearest Infiniti dealer and you can purchase a replacement.

The front pads are pretty straight forward, the read pads require a special tool avalable at most auto parts stores that looks like a cube, it attaches to the end of your rachet to crank back in the rear caliper, it cannot simply be squeezed back in like the fronts with a big c-clamp. DaveB

The ODB code reader connector is located on the driver side somewhere under the steering column. Some times they are cover with a black plastic or rubber cover to protect them.

You have a random cylinder misfire. Assuming your car is 2001+ replace the ignition coils and spark plugs. You may have to clean/replace the MAF. Had exact same codes on my QX4.

it's numbers mixed with letters its located on the drivers side between the wind shield and the dash board on your left of check the drivers door as you open it it will see the vin # on the edge.

Check inside the trunk itself. There is a latch on the locking mechanism itself; sometimes it is accidentally switched and when it is in a certain position, it will not unlock unless you do so manually.

You should have a timing chain not a belt on that 3.0 liter motor. They last 300k

I think the answer is you buy another car, the J30 stopped production in 1997.

the following instructions are for the 2001 130 model.
first remove the bezel surrounding the air vents (one by the clock) using a very thin flat head screwdriver covered with cloth. just gently pry the sides out.
once removed you will have access to 2 screws on either side of the clock these keep the panel over the clock in place.
once removed the panel (and clock which is attached to the panel) comes out easily.
flip over and you will notice 2 plastic screw inserts on either side of the clock, gently unscrew with small thin screw driver.
bulb and base will come out together, bulb is attached to base with 2 thin wires from bulb. note how this is done as you will have to repeat to attach new bulb.

The Knock sensor is located under the intake manifold... in between the Engine Main body and Spark Plug Housing... Its easier to see when the Air intake system & battery housing are removed look down into the crevices...

The rear caliper compresses into the bore by rotating the face clockwise. You can do this with a special tool or with long, needle nose pliers. Unlike the front calipers, the piston extends and retracts on a spiral screw attached to the bottom of the caliper bore.

11. Turn off, add 4 gallons fuel, idle 10 minutes, ignition key off for 10 seconds

12. Drive 50-60mph, OD off, engine rpm over 3000: 3 minutes

13. Drive 53-58mph, AC on, OD on, engine 1800-2100, cruise control ok: 3

minutes

It is telling you that a misfire is detected in cylinder number 4. To troubleshoot this the easiest thing to do is take the coil pack from number 4 and exchange it with number 3. Reset the light and run the vehicle. When the light comes on again see if the code is po303. If it is you have a bad coil. If it still says po304 you probably have a bad spark plug or plug boot. '01 Infinity I30's have 4 O2 sensors. Two in Bank one and two in Bank two. They are located on the exhaust system. On the front of your engine you will see four harnesses, blue, red, white and black. All but the blue wire runs under the engine to the exhaust system. Bank 1 is the rear of the exhaust and Bank 2 is the front of the exhaust (by the manifold). Black and white go to Bank 1 and blue and white go to Bank 2. Go to infinitihelp/Ownership/common.com and there is a diagram of the exhaust system. Your most likely looking for the black harness/wire.

It's very simple. Take out the old one and put in the new one. Just make sure you plug up the antifreeze hoses and buy more antifreeze for the new radiator.
