URL stands for Universal address locater and is commonly referred to as the Address Bar. You use this bar to direct your Internet browser to the website that you want to go to. without it, your computer wouldn't know where to get the web page that you want to view.

There is actually a very easy way to find Internet history, that few people know about. Even if you are very careful about deleting your Internet history, all the sites you have visited are stored in a temporary archive, called the 'DNS Cache'.

To access this DNS Cache and view the files, you click on the 'Start' button, and can do two things.

Click 'Run' in the start menu, or if it isn't there hold down the 'Windows' key and the 'R' key at the same time. This will bring up a little box. In that box, type in cmd.exe and click 'OK'. A black box will come up now, with a line of writing. You don't need to click anything, just type ipconfig /displaydns and click 'Enter'.

Now, a list of sites you have visited will come up. If you don't want anyone to see that, you'll have to type in ipconfig /flush dns. If you did this correctly, this will come up:

You will NEVER be able to hide your Internet history from the police; computers don't allow that. But, this will trick other people, and normal police, into thinking you haven't even been on the Internet in a few months.

Ummmm.... the dsi does too have an internet! i just got it last week and it has internet, camera, and you can play many cool hames! it costs $188.00 pretty expensive and yeah.... the dsi does have an internet!!!! :)

Internet Explorer is generally an out-of-date browser that Microsoft doesn't really support. I highly recommend switching to Firefox or Google Chrome. Both have more effective ad blocker software and will most likely not have problems (unless your internet connection is experiencing problems).

With broadband there is less need for web caching. Its definitely less heard off anyway. But pretty much, if you frequent a site on a server that is perhaps 18 hops away. It will take awhile for the page to get to you, so what happens is when you go onto a website a copy of the page is stored locally. Next time you request it, you are shown the copy on your computer. It's much faster to show you a page on your own computer then it is to get a page the other side of the network/internet. ISP's also cache popular pages too. So when one of their customers requests it, they have it pretty much ready to go.
