There is one on the right lower engine block behind the alternator and another under the upper intake.

Facing the engine, the left bank (passenger side) is one through four with one being at the front closest to you. The right bank (driver's side) is five through eight with five being at the front closest to you.

Limp Mode for the transmission!

Never put your mobile phone anywhere near the centre console, because it's handshake signals with a cell site can send your transmission computer haywire.

Remove the phone and switch off the ignition for 6 minutes (?) and it will correct itself. A cell phone can also send the electric handbrake into fits of binging and bonging from the dash, as well as doing strange things to the gearbox computer.

That's if you are lucky! Unlucky and you have a lot of cheque writing in front of you!

A throttle body on the jaguar s type is a full electronic controlled air valve. this valve controlls the amount of air delivered to the engine. on older cars this is usually attached directly to the accelerator pedal but in the jaguars case this is controlled independently by the engine computer. it does this to incorporate cruise controll,traction controll and controlls the speed the throttle opens to limit emisions. notoriously unreliable always expensive and unfortunatly indespenceable.

need to change fog lamps on car. the light has brunet out. dolphas k canady. youll need to go from the bottom of bumper. remove cover underneath engine

Virtually all modern vehicles with an automatic transmission require the transmission pan be unbolted and removed to drain and replace the transmission fluid. This can best accomplished by a trained mechanic/technician using a lift and a large oil collector funnel. The technician will check the transmission components for wear, adjust/replace any parts, change the internal filter, and replace the transmission gasket and fluid. This is not a job for a "weekend" mechanic, and depending on the vehicles mileage and use, may be performed between 25,000 and 50,000 miles -- check your owners manual for recommendations. I would suggest a Jaguar dealership perform this service.

Fuse No. 32 (Yellow) 20 amps, in the passenger fuse compartment on the right side trim panel in the footwell.

Programming new key remote # Open your trunk # Turn ignition only to 2nd notch (do not start) # Toggle your valet switch 4-5 times till you hear a chirp (this indicates the vehicle is now in learn mode) # Hold your remote button till lights flash and car will chirp once more to let you know remote has been set.

where is the low side port to recharge the air conditioning system in a 2003 jaguear s type

it's very EZ to change the fron and the back bank, just remove plastic covers and pull out one plug at a time and replace, use thread grease and torque. I did this on 1998 and there was plenty of room to work.

First year of the s-type was 1999. if this an s-type, remove the left front wheel and lift the rear of the wheel arch, there will be a plastic nut and screws to remove, behind the wheel arch and find the fuel filter secured with a 10mm bolt, remove the clips and replace them when replacing the filter.

Don't be fooled. the lamp is not screw or bayonet. It is a simple pull-out halogen lamp. I wrapped some rubber matting around the lamp and then, very carefully, used a pair of long-nosed pliers to just pull it out

A regular jaguar lasts about 250,000 miles!

update: September 2007

it's been stuck in third gear now for about 26,000 miles. i drive it daily almost 60 miles in city and highway traffic and still get 17 mpg. it's kinda slow taking off and it winds it out at 3200 rpm at 70 mph all the way down the highway, but i might just not bother fixing it at this point. i can verify one thing: that is one tough third gear they put in the old xj6!

Remove the plastic stone guard cover below the engine, then you will see it adjacent to the rear of the engine

I am going through the same thing right now on my 2000 S-type. I found that my car does it more often when it is humid or raining and the accelerator seems to affect the on and off of the light. I have alot of automotive experience myself and I hooked a scan tool to the car and it gave a throttle position percentage at 85 to 97 at an idle. On the 3.0, there are three output wires on the throttle position sensor and I monitored them and only one is not responding right. The check engine light is not on. It may be a ground or other wiring problem. I have not explored the problem further but I expect to have to replace the TPS. The Jaguar dealership here wants about $150.

its your power steering ur pressure pipe needs changing that's all. that's the inlet pipe in ur power steering. check under the lid of the reservoir u will find cream lick stuff. take the front wheel and under wing cover off and its just 2 bolts easy job to fix.

can i re charge my battery without unconecting the battery on my s type jag

The number 7 cylinder is on the driver side of the engine. It is the next to last cylinder towards the firewall.

there is a removable plug on the top right side of the transmission, facing from the rear. to check fluid level, put tranny in park, start engine, let it idle, remove this plug. if fluid seeps out, you do not need fluid.if no fluid seeps out , fill through this hole until fluid starts running out. Then the transmission is at proper level.
