Lcd on laptop has multi colored lines?

This type of problem can be tricky, but can be narrowed down fairly quickly. First thing to do is plug an external monitor into the VGA connector on your laptop. It will be a 15 pin connector. Toggle your screens using the "FN" button and the button that shows a monitor icon or says "LCD/Monitor depending on the brand of laptop you have. If the external monitor fires up with no lines then you can safely assume that the integrated video adapter/card/GPU is fine. If the external monitor has the lines, then it is safe to assume that the card is shot and you will typically need a new mother board because the cards are integrated into the boards in most cases. Some newer laptops have FRU (Field replaceable unit) cards and can be swapped out, but generally that is not the case. Back to scenario one. If the external is OK then your LCD panel is probably shot and needs to be replaced. The inverter does not typically cause this problem, but certainly would be a cheap place to start. They are about $15 and are easily replaced. Just Google "replacing a laptop inverter" and you will find numerous resources Also, check that the LCD connector plug is properly seated in the interface slot on the motherboard. With all computer troubleshooting, start with the simple things and progress through the process to more complicated causes. Hope that helps. Why has your acer laptop charger stoped working?

Can you play flightgear on a laptop?

Yup!!

That's what I do, and it runs fine. You just need a laptop with good specs.

But FlightGear will run fine on most laptops. Even with an Intel GMA it will run, just don't expect good framerates on the ground.

I recommend using a laptop with a good GPU, preferably one with an ATI Radeon or Nvidia GeForce.

Why do laptop chargers have ground pin?

Not all do. A ground terminal is a safety feature.

Yes, it is much safer when we use the laptop.

Which one is better Toshiba laptop M645 or R705?

If I base it with their performance, M645 is better than R705. M645 is quieter and does not heat up easily. The feature is really meant for personal use or for school. There is no big difference with the price when I check it through online, so I'll choose M645 with Processor Intel Core i5 i5-450M / 2.4 GHz with Max Turbo Speed 2.66 GHz, Features Intel Turbo Boost Technology and so many features. If you want to get the details, I'll add it in related links.

Why wont your mouse pad work and also frozen in the middle of the screen?

I assume you mean why won't the mouse work? The mouse pad is just a pad placed underneath some mouses (or mice) to improve their operation.

If your mouse is not working, it'd help to have some more information on what type of mouse it is. If it plugs into the computer, check it is plugged in correctly and into the correct port (usually a USB port) and ensure the cable is not damaged. If it is wireless, make sure it has new batteries correctly inserted into it (assuming that it uses batteries), etc. Again, it'd help to know what kind of mouse you have before I could help, as there are many different types and each type operates in a different way.

EDIT: Sorry, just noticed this was posted under laptops, and realized you might have meant the touchpad you find on most laptops. If that's what you mean, then I'd guess the problem probably isn't something you could fix yourself - if the problem is that the laptop touchpad isn't working (and you've tried restarting the computer a few times) I'd suggest taking your laptop to a computer technician.

I'm thinking about getting a laptop What else do I need like wireless internet?

I'm not a an expert by any means, but I did work for an ISP for a few years working customer service. When you purchase the laptop make sure it has a wireless card. (If you are getting a MAC, I really don't know.)

If you already have some sort of highspeed internet access you'll need to have at least a 1.5Mbps connection speed to really appreciate a wireless connection. You'll also want to find out if your current equipment broadcasts a wireless signal. You should be able to call your ISP and ask them. If the router/modem does not broadcast a signal you'll want to either purchase an adapter at like Bestbuy or Walmart, if your devise is new enough. If you have an older devise you should just purchase a new piece of equipment that does broadcast a wireless signal. Once again contact your ISP, you'll want to make sure your new modem/router is still compatible and supported by your ISP.

I always say less equipment is better, if there's ever an issue later it's easier to eliminate the problem if you only have one piece of equipment. Once you have a wireless signal broadcasted in the home your computer should pick up the signal and ask for some information. I would recommend contacting your ISP or the support department for your router if you need additional assistance configuring the wireless connection.

If you do not have an ISP, just pick one out and let them know your needs. I always suggest sticking to someone with local free support. Never go with an ISP that isn't willing to sit on the phone and answer all of your questions, regrdless of how simple you may think they are OR how many times you ask them.

How do you take an input from a headset pin of a cell phone and transfer it to the computer using a modem and also send audio output to the cell phone through the inbuilt laptop modem?

Easier said than done. I have spent a huge amount of time trying to do this. It isn't possible to do the way that you are describing because of technical differences between the landline phone network and the cellphone network. It should be possible, and I don't understand why no one has made something to do this, but it wouldn't be simple. If you want wireless internet access on your laptop through your cell phone, try Verizon's broadband service. It is expensive, but I haven't found any other way to do it; let me know if you do. -DJ Craig

How do you unlock the bios on a laptop i have forgotten my password i need to reboot i have a vires?

This information is intended for experienced users. It is not intended for basic users, hackers, or computer thieves. Please do not try any of following procedures if you are not familiar with computer hardware. I'm not responsible for the use or misuse of this information, including personal injury, loss of data or hardware damage. So use it at your own risk.

A. By Using the Motherboard Jumper:

In most motherboards CMOS battery is soldered, which makes it difficult to remove the battery. In this case we use another method.

Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.

When you find the jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and the jumper will be joining the center pin to either left or right pin. What you need to do, is remove the jumper and join the center pin to the opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then remove it and join center pin to right pin. Now wait for a few seconds and then again remove the jumper and join the center pin to left pin.

Make sure to turn the PC off before opening the cabinet and resetting the jumper.

B. By Using Software:

I have found that BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is the most effective:

BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is a program that works instantly to remove any lost or forgotten BIOS/CMOS password. Simply boot your PC to DOS and execute the program, and get access to forgotten BIOS/CMOS passwords in just seconds

How can you save audio on your laptop from your email document?

Connect a cable from your speaker output to your microphone input. Use a sound recording program like Audacity (available online for free) to record the sound as it plays. Since the input and output impedances are different, you have to keep the output volume extremely low otherwise it will be very distorted.

You want to connect your laptop to your tv with the s-video cable what do you need?

You will need an s-video cable and that's about it.

Plug the cable into the laptop & into the back of the TV. Power up the laptop and the tv and set the tv to view the proper input signal.

The laptop may not send a signal to the svideo port until you tell it to. Look for a key marked "Fn" This is called a function modifier key, and pressing it in concert with other keys on the keyboard trigger certain hardware functions.

There will be a series of keys that have little subscripts or icons printed on them, ususally in the same color that the "Fn" key is printed with. Look for one that has a little picture that looks like a tv screen. Pressing Fn and the screen button will cycle the laptop through several display modes, one of which will be s-video output.

Note that S-video will not send the audio to your tv, for that you will need a separate cable.
