That depends. Once your batteries go low you'll need to recharge them. UK power is 240 volts 50 hertz; US power is 120 volts 60 hertz. Check the label on your power adaptor. If it says something like: Input power 100-240V 1.5A 50-60Hz then you're good to go. If not, or it only says input power 120V 60 Hz, then you'll need another power charger. Check your laptop mfr website or do a google search - many companies sell dual-voltage units. You will still need a mains adapter, as the US 3-prong wall socket is nothing like the UK 3-prong wall socket. Those plug adaptors are available in travel shops and some airport shopping areas. ;-)

Well, at least do the work, first, then ask the teacher if you can get ahead in class so that when the real time comes, you don't have to with the rest of the class, or you can work on something else from another class.

Purchased this laptop from a retail computer shop a little while ago and have had a few weeks to play with it.

Overall, I feel that this is a solid product. I purchased this when my Dell Mini 9, (now discontinued) bit the dust, and overall feel that this newer netbook model is a vast improvement. As I am a college student who uses this product primarily for taking notes in class, I must say that the keyboard is ideal, and I have no problem keeping up with the lecture almost word-for-word. This is a large improvement over my previous netbook, which had a very congested keyboard along with keys swapped from their normal positions. The trackpad and mouse keys are pretty stellar also, although I must admit the pad itself could stand be a little larger, this is not a deal-breaker however. Bundled Windows 7 software seemed to work adequately well, however I did get rid of the massive amount of bloatware that comes with any piece of HP hardware. Soon after purchasing, I installed Macintosh OS X, which I greatly prefer.

Only caveat I can think of is the power-switch located on the side of the device can be tricky sometimes for people that are avid nail-biters, (like myself). A power-button would have been preferred, but it's not the end of the world.

One thing of note is that this page says that the RAM limit is 1GB, however this is not true. I was able to swap out my old 2GB DDR2 stick from my bricked Mini 9 and it was immediately recognized and functioned properly. Installation was fairly painless, although HP is very stingy on instructions on how to do it. If you are tech-savvy whatsoever it will not be an obstacle.

now go to language tab and click on details

in details you will see the keyboard option

just click on add and add your appropriate language keyboard

You can Adjust the Brightness of the Compaq 510 Laptop while the system is in Debugging mode only.

That is when you are starting the system then only you can able to adjust the brightness using the function key and F8 or F9.

Go to device manager and check if you see a yellow mark beside the Camera device. If not, chances are the drivers are installed and you can't get the front end (Crystal Eye to work). Download this tool and install it, it will provide you with a preview of the USB Video Stream. This way you will know that your webcam is working or not!

This is acutally the Intex Drivers. I happen to own an Acer Laptop with the same problem. The video drivers work, but Crystal Eye (Front End) doesnt work. This Intex Driver will install a free front end to view the USB Camera Feed.

Most likely you did not setup properly internet settings for the router. You need to know how your internet provider distributes ip addresses. Usually it happens through DHCP server. In order to get ip address from DHCP you need to know address(es) for the DNS server(s) and put them in your router internet connection properties.

Well technically speaking yes, because the battery can over charge, lowering its life span/capacity and the adapters tend to overheat causing damage to the charger. Fortunately for the newer laptop batteries and chargers this problem is solved. If you are really concerned about either of these events occurring then unplug it after each charge.

I have a Dell XPS M1530 Laptop and need to put a mini cd in to configure new hardware. I searched online to see if this laptop was capable of accepting this miniature CD without risk of damage or jamming. I'm happy to say that after slowly pushing the cd in until I hit the last milometer the laptop sucked the Mini CD right in, read it just fine, and spit it out on demand. Go for it!

While holding it down you can use the different functions associated with the F keys such as changing the brightness. Some models will also display system information if you hold it down and push the esc key. Some keyboards also have numbers on the letters of the keyboard in small boxes which you can use like the 10 - key side of a regular keyboard

The Lenovo ThinkPad is simply a brand of laptop computer so it can perform all the normal laptop functions. There are several different versions with special features, such as the Twist which can convert to a tablet.

A Laptop/Computer has two types of memories. 1> Hard Disk- Which is a memory with higher storage capacity ranging from 40GB to 500GB easily available right now. This is a permanent memory( will not be erased when you shut down your laptop) will help you store more of your files, songs, videos etc and depending on your need you may select a configuration . I personally prefer 250GB + and buying a portable hard disk of 500GB 2> RAM: Or Rapid Access Memory. The processor uses this as a intermediate storage location or desk area between the hard disk since RAM is much faster to access than the disk( RAM is a temporary memory and automatically erased on shutdown or rather we can say session specific). The bigger the RAM, better the performance, more simultaneous applications can be run with ease! Currently 2GB is the norm but I would suggest 4GB with expandable capacity upto 8GB. This is one area where one should not compromise.

Only a Computer that has a Blu-ray disc writer/player. Some computers need to have this feature added as optional equipment and for others you need to purchase the Blu-ray writer and have it installed.
