I finally found the drains in each corner of the sunroof. They were covered with dirt. You can't see the ones in the rear of the sunroof but you can feel them with a screwdrive with the roof in the tilt position. I used weed eater cable to clean them. I also found 2 drains for where the water running down the front window drains. The drains for this area were clogged right below the windshield. I am starting to believe that this was my problem area rather than the sunroof. All drains are now clear and I am waiting to see if all is well.

Open the hood. Look for the air filter assembly on the right just above the battery. Take a 9 mm socket and loosen the two bolts at the outside right edge of the air filter cover. Lift the cover gently and just enough to remove the air filter. Make sure you look at the orientation of the air filter so you can put the new one in the same way. Slip in the new filter. Place the cover snuggly over the filter and tighten the bolts. Total time 10 minutes most of it spent finding the right socket.

Heats engine faster, turns on heated washer nozzles, mirrors, and seats. Also disables sunroof for snowy conditions.

Semi conductors are used, usually silicon doped with some other material, which produce a low dc voltage. That's just the physics of how it works.

get the car on a lift. remove the air box, battery, intake hoses.

use a cross-beam to hang the engine. usually a chain around the intake manifold, and a chain to the rightmost stud on the exhaust manifold.

drain the atf, disconnect the engine mounts from the subframe. 3 14mm bolts in front, 4 nuts 14mm in rear, 2 14mm bolts on damper (mini shock), 2 14mm nuts left side. disconnect the hoses from the hard lines on the transaxle.

remove the exhaust pipe under the car. remove the torque converter access plate (2 10mm bolts) disconnect the flex plate from the torque converter (6 14mm bolts). disconnect the shift linkage (12mm nut, 1 clip) don't lose the clip!

on top of the transaxle, remove 5 17mm bolts from the bell housing. remove the starter 2 14mm bolts. pull the shift cable up out of the way, unstrap the O2 sensor wire from the dipstick. disconnect electrical connections and remove 2 14mm bolts holding wire loom, and a 12mm bolt ground wire.

leaving one 17mm nut on each ball joint hand tight, remove all the subframe bolts 4 22mm, 4 14mm bolts, 4-6 14mm nuts. letting the subframe hang from the ball joints, remove the sway bar holder (4 12mm bolts) remove 2 19mm bolts from steering rack. remove 2 12mm bolts holding power steering line to subframe (right side)

remove the 2 nuts from the ball joints and put the subframe aside.

support the transaxle on a transjack and strap it down. remove 4 14mm bolts from right axle mount (on engine block) remove 3 14mm bolts on bottom of bell housing. use a small pry bar, push the transmission away from the engine block and this will loosen up the axle mount remove the axle from the transaxle (don't attempt to remove the mount) drop the transaxle.

reassembly is the reverse of removal.

The solar sensor is located on the drivers side of the dashboard close to the windshield. There are two sensors there (2 small round sensors)...while sitting in the driver's seat, the leftmost sensor is the headlight sensor (turns lights on/off automatically), the solar sensor is to the right of the headlight sensor. To replace the sensor, you use a screw driver to pry it out (be careful not to scratch the dash). Remove the old sensor, install a new one and put it back in its place in the dash.

If I remember correctly, there is a rubber cover on the back side of the headlight assembly (under the hood). Once that is pulled back, there is a a wire clip that holds the bulb in place. Once the wire clip is dis-engaged, the bulb will slide out of the socket/holder.

Thermostat is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment. Follow the lower coolant pipe starting from the radiator into the engine and thermostat is located where the that pipe enters the engine. You will have to remove the windshield washer reservoir, alternator drive belt and removing any engine mounting components will greatly help. The thermostat housing is secured by three bolts and also remove the bolt that holds the metal pipe connecting to the alternator bracket.

Yes they definitely do fit and without rub too. Try getting 20' rims that will allow you to put 225/35/20's on it, otherwise you will scrape/rub and cause alot of damage to the car..

I was told at the dealership to check my gas cap and make sure it clicks when its closed. Sure enough within 24 hours, the lights went out. Hope this helps. -----------------------

A week ago, on my Lexus ES 300 (2001), "Check Engine" and "Trac Off" lights came on. This coincided with me filling the gas tank to the brim to round the dollar to be paid. Some websites suggested that the "Trac Off" is related to the gas tank cap not being tight. I cleaned the gas tank cap and the tank opening. However, both lights persisted. On the same day, when I turned on the car again, there was a hesitance, a stuttering to come on, like the battery was going down. Both "Check Engine" and "Trac Off" lights were still on.

The next day, the car wouldn't come on at all. It sounded as the battery was dead. I couldn't even jump start the car. Usually, if the battery is completely drained, jump starting will not work. So, I got a new battery from Costco ($56.99) and put it in. (There is a $9 fee if you do not turn in the old battery).

It took 15-20 seconds of cranking to get the car started. Once it was started, the engine sounded fine and the RPM was normal. The "Check Engine" light was off. However, the "Trac Off" was still on. I cleaned the gas tank cap one more time.

The next morning, when I turned the car on, there was no problem at all. It came on instantly as it used to be, didn't have any warning lights, and drove smoothly.

The gas tank cap getting dirty and the battery being down are unrelated things, which just happened on the same day. I do not know which one caused which warning light to come on though.

You are going to need to take the whole mount out just to get the pressed in bushing out of the mount. ounce the whole mount is off of the car you will need to use a press to get the bushing out. Lexus will sell you the whole mount with bushing installed for about $134.00. LEXUS PART # 12380.

As the Lexus is Toyota's premium brand the parts to repair a Lexus will be more expensive than the same parts for a Camry. But the Lexus is one of the most reliable vehicles you can buy. At 90,000 miles the Lexus and Camry both have many miles left before they need any major repairs, assuming they were serviced regularly. Look closely at each car and see if it appears they were taken care of. I would pick the Lexus over the Camry although both are very dependable automobiles.

you buy a new set either from eBay or your dealer or you can remove your tired ones and have them regassed its as good as new,,just remmber one thing when you remove them remove them from the bols that hold them to the body and the hood,do not pry them off the brackets good luck

If the car is sputtering, there may be a few reasons for this. The air/fuel mixture may be off, there may be a bad spark plug or two, the fuel line may be clogged, the air filter may be clogged, or the car just needs a tune up/

If the needle is out you have to replace the needle itself as its an LED light. If its a dashboard light then you have to remove the face plate(two screws on the top of it) and take out the instrument cluster, take it apart and replace the bulb.

Although the needles are engineered to be removed/replaced, you cannot buy a single needle. You must by the entire instrument cluster to fix this.
