The airbox is a black square plastic thing, about 15x25cm, with a thick black tube leading to the engine. Take out the four screws in the corner of the airbox and lift the top off. Edit - my 626 2001 clearly does not have a cabin filter. Remove the bottom cover beneath the glove box and viola, the sealed casement of the evaporator. Remove the fan assembly, and its clear that the intake port peeks into a very inaccessible area beneath the upper dash - loose wires, etc. Anyone paying anyone for a filter replacement on this car apparently would get a shaft. Oh yes, lots of loose leaves and crap inside the evaporator housing- dont try to remove it like I did cause it is unyielding, breaking into pieces despite removing all screws. This 2001 626 has had way more trouble than the family's 99 Ford...dont believe consumer reports.
How often do you change air filter on a 2007 Mazda 3?
Whenever the filter looks dirty, or when you know the idle can be slightly better. If it catches on fire or anything you might want to change it ASAP because the thing being warped won't let as much air in as it should. If the filter looks dirty and you change it, but the idle doesn't change one bit, I would put the old one back on until the idle is finally noticed.
The alarm and the horn are interconnected in some models, if you pulled the fuse from the alarm it might have caused a surge big enough to blow the horns fuse, just replace it. You just have to make sure that the fuse you took from the alarm is back on. If the alarm is not working, disable it properly and not by removing a fuse.

There are 3. One is under the hood for external components, then there is also one just inside the door on the drivers side of the console. The last one is under the glove box behind the cover and involves removing the cover and 2 screws and then pulling it out.
