What is the best value of coefficient of performance?

Well, conceptually, the best value for COP would be infinite because we'd like to be able to provide the largest amount of heating or cooling for the smallest amount of input energy.

Why is heat trasnfer coefficient of saturated steam is higher than superheated steam?

when steam is at its saturation point for a given pressure, any heat removed will cause liquid water to form. So when saturated steam is used to heat something else, the heated object/substance receives the condensation heat of the steam. The latent heat of condensation/evaporation is 970 But/lb @ 0 psig. On the other, superheated steam only gives up about 10 BTU/lb if it is cooled 20 degrees F. That means that much more steam would be used to transfer the equivalent amount of heat. The liquid water interface also improves the heat transfer.

Is a standing fan open loop or close loop control system?

I assume a "standing fan" is just a fan that moves air. It might have a few settings such as oscillate or slow, medium, fast for the fan speed. This is an open loop control system. There is nothing telling a controller that the fan is oscillating or not, nor is there a mechanism that is telling the fan that it is on slow, medium or high.

If the fan were to have a temperature sensor on it that would apply power if the temp went above the preset limit, this could be described as a closed loop system.

Who was Gerald Bull and who killed him?

Gerald Bull was a brilliant Canadian artillery expert in charge of Project HARP before its cancellation in favor or rockets, and he was developing the "supergun" for Iraq at the time of his assassination. If completed, this weapon would have been able to hit targets in Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. The method of his killing (silenced .22 pistol) seems to indicate that he was killed by Mossad agents from Israel, as this country would have been the most likely target for the supergun.

How do you interpret a reference point?

something that stay at the same velocity...or dumbing it down :) is what an object is moving relative to something else.. so if there is a train and a girl watching the train the girl is a reference point because the train is moving relative of it

What is valve class?

class of valve means standardization of the valve . For different working pressure and working field different class of valve required.

How long to break in a new engine?

depends on what engine it is normally for first five hours dont ride over haif throttle, keep the load down and vary your speed, the next 5 hours keep it under three quarter throttle it takes a min of 10 hours to break in a motor some go as far as 15 hours , i would be changing your oil as well after the first 10 hours of use and refill with correct grade and dont overfill remember a carefull run in period will extend the life of the motor up to 3 times longer than a motor that was pushed hard from brand new dont over rev it allow it to slowly bed itself in and youll be rewarded in years to come

Angular momentum is a measure of?

angular momentum is the measure of angular motion in a body.

What is bed length in lathe?

The bed length of a lathe is the total length of the bed way from where it starts to (close to the headstock) to where it ends.

When a lathe is advertized for sale it would show for example: 200mm x 1000mm or 8" x 40". The 200mm or 8" describes the "swing" of the machine and the 1000mm or 40" describes the workable distance between the chuck and center. This should not be confused with the bed size of a lathe as the bed houses the tail stock and therefore the distance is shortened.

What is the difference between seamless and stainless?

'Seamless' means without a 'seam' (a seam is a join therefore seamless stockings are kitted as a tube rather than being cut out of flat material then joined into a tube by stitching).

'Stainless' means without a 'stain' ( a stain is a discoloration or blemish, thus stainless steel will not rust and and therefore a knife made out of this steel will remain new looking throughout its life while an ordinary knife blade will blacken and rust with age).

What is a machine vice?

A machine vice is a device used to hold a work piece when operating a milling machine or adrill press. The machine vice is adjustable in many different ways, allowing the work piece to be manipulated into any angle or position required. This type of vice is crucial when a certain angle is required to be repeated on several pieces. The machinist can mount the work piece and adjust the vice to the desired angle and position and the machined finish will duplicate the prior pieces exactly.

It should be noted that there are two common spellings of this piece of machinery. In the United Kingdom, when referring to a machine vice, the word is spelled vice. Alternatively, in the United States, machine vise is used.

In some milling operations, the cutting tool remains stationary while the machine vice is used to move the work piece into the cutting tool and complete the machining operation. The precision movement of the machine vice allows the machinist to create pin-point operations by manipulating the vice's controls. In other operations, the machine vice is simply used to position the work piece while it is milled. This typically occurs when machining a work piece that is flat and square.
