What is the tinsel strength of steel?
You mean tensile strength. Different steels have different tensile strengths. The way they are made (drawn, cast, forged, etc.) is critically important to the tensile strength. By the way--steel is more important for its stiffness than its tensile strength.
What is valve actuating mechanism?
Mechanism with side camshaft
and
Mechanism with overhead camshaft
both valve actuating mechanisms are used to operate inlet or exhaust valves.
What are the reasons for crankcase explosion?
high temperature due to the reciprocating movement of the piston,
increase in bearing temperatures,
sparks entering the crankcase due to leaky piston rings or piston blow past,
fires in the adjacent scavenge trunks.
Now, when these hot spots come in contact with the oil in the crankcase, the oil gets vaporised. When these vaporised particles travel to the cooler part of the crankcase they get condensed into a white mist which has oil particles properly dispensed in it. The process that takes place is some what similar to atomization. This white mist when again travels to the hot spot area, can easily catch fire, which might also lead to an explosion. The fire or the explosion create immense pressure inside the crankcase and if this pressure crosses the permissible limit, crankcase explosion takes place. The explosion will rupture the crankcase doors and even cause heavy damage to the inside of the engine.
How do you sweat brass pipe fitting?
First, clean the inside of the fitting to be soldered, and the outside of the tube it is to be soldered to, with abrasive cloth, steel brushes, steel wool or equivilent. Second, apply a thin coating of soldering flux to these surfaces. Install the fitting on the piece of tubing and turn to be assured of a coating of flux is spread evenly between these surfaces. Using a torch apply heat to the base of the cup of the fitting. Using a circular motion apply heat evenly all around the fitting (at its base). When flux begins to show signs of bubbling apply appropriate wire solder at top of fitting cup. If joint is sufficiently heated solder will become liquidious and run into the joint. Apply only enough heat to melt soldering compound being used. When solder becomes liquidious remove heat from joint. Allow joint to cool and solder to return to solidus state. Overheating will cause flux to burn inside joint. The carbon formed will prevent solder from filling that area. If several of these "areas" join together, not only will the joint be weak but it will also leak!
What is design standardisation?
It is the process of creating products which are the same but can be used in different ways. This is closely linked to 'modular design' which is more focused on designing singular component parts which can be used in a multitude of different products. basically.. being able to use the same components or products for different projects.
Find the heating surface of a water tube boiler tube with a 3 diameter and 20 feet long?
3.14*3*20*12= 2260.8 sq inthe heating surface of a fire tube boiler is determined by adding all of the surface of the tubes that have hot water on one side and/or fire or gases of combustion on the other, including the super heater and economizer.
How do you calculate gpm from TR?
The GPM is gallons per minute and TR is the ton of refrigeration. The GMP can be calculated from the TR by using the formula BTUH divided by 500 multiplied by Delta T.

What is spark ignition or Diesel?
spark ignition engine is also known as petrol engine. but in diesel engines the fuel is burnt due to the high compression of air.so there is no need of spark plug
What is the cylinder size for 500mm bag size in flexografic printing machine?
If your bag length is 500mm long, the circumference of your drum including your printing plate shall be 500mm. Hence find the diameter of the drum and the plate, then deduct twice the plate thickness (say if the plat is 4 mm, it comes on both sides, so deduct 8mm from the diameter) and derive the circumference of the drum from this number.
What are the cut off lengths or dimensions on 15mm and 22mm low carbon steel pipe?
In the USA, 15mm is half-inch, and 22mm is three-quarters inch. Lengths of pipe nipples in these sizes range from one and a quarter/one and a half, to six inches, in half-inch increments.
What is modulus rigidity of nylon?
It will depend on the Nylon type; average is about 200,000 psi (1380 MPa)
Lathes start at about $100 and go up into the thousands!
What is the value of early model Lesney cast iron cars?
Lesney didn't use cast iron. They used zinc. The model value depends on condition and rarity of the particular casting and variation of that casting. Watch Ebay to learn about what model you have and compare its condition and variation to what you see for sale and what something actually sells for. A series of books by "Charlie Mack" from Schiffer Publishing should give you a general idea about castings and variations made.
What is a post indicator valve?
A valve that is installed in the main fire line serving a building to turn the water off that is flowing into a building in the event of a fire within a building. Most commonly found in the yard near the building and sometimes wall mounted on the building. The building is intended to shut the water off in the event of a fire and the building is not safe to enter to shut the water off at the sprinkler riser.
