entire list needs to be done every 30k with the exception of plugs. just do plugs every 60k miles

It should be the same as my 2001 CLK. Just make sure the car is not locked as the doors and fuel door all lock together when you send the lock signal. Lightly press the forward quarter of the fuel door and it will swing open. The door is not hinged at one end like a gate. It is hinged off-set from the edge about two to three inches. Cool huh?

Simply unlock the doors.

The above answer benefits no one. As a former professional BMW mechanic, I find that type arrogance ridiculous. Many DIY's do not have a supply of oil on hand and asking how much oil is required for an oil change is not NECESSARILY an idiotic question. Just because we might know the correct answer, everyone who does not and asks is an idiot. It's obvious to everyone the answer is "until it's full."

Assuming the doors are unlocked and you can enter the vehicle, the best way (short of getting a locksmith) would be to go in from the back seat. Pull the small handle above the back seats to lower them. There may be a thin divider that can be opened to gain access to the trunk.

Most likely an electrical problem. A disconnected wire or a blown fuse.

Has anyone worked under the dashboard of late? Do you see any loose wires?

Are there other items not working? If you have a group of things not working it is probably a fuse.

it will burn oil and damage the plugs and emissions systems resulting in a check engine light and in 02 sensors and cat converter replacement which will keep the car from passing inspection until repaired. drain excess oil with a topsider or at the drain plug. do not drive with the car in this state

The best brake pads would be the factory mercedes-benz brake pads. I have seen lots of aftermarket brake pads on these cars, and all they do is squeak. So you can usually never go wrong with factory parts.

Book says 8.5 quarts. Almost dead on. I put in 8 after an oil change and ran it a week. Checked it and it was half a quart low.

the problem with your seats is the "seat control module" it is located under the driver's seat and is about $250 on-line and about 2.5 hours labor to install it at the dealership. I'd suggest buying it yourself and then taking it to the dealer so they don't charge you about another $300 mark-up on the part. It's what I did with mine when the seats stopped working in my 1998 clk. Good luck. Usually there is a green colored knob on the doors that stores memories of seat positions. When this gets 'confused', it jams and the seat(s) will fail to move or just move in one direction only. One thing u could check first is the switch hidden in the door panels behind the knob that moves the seat forward/backwards on each door. Disengage it and wait a few minutes, then replug. This 'resets' the 'memory' and allows the knob function as normal. This solved the problem with mine.

The hood release is directly under the steering column toward the firewall. It is not real easy to find as it is made out of the same plastic material as the steering column and fits tightly in it's home. You will find a little depression for your fingers. I had to ask too.

This system is to help you maintain control. It keeps wheels from having excessive wheel spin if its comes on during take off let up on the gas It should only come on when the ESP system detects excessive wheel spin

The outside air temp sensor on 2004 CLK 500 is located next to the right side fog light, held in a circular holder, about 1/2 inch in diameter.
