Where is the oil fill on a 1986 econoline 350 van engine?
I am not sure about that exact van, but most motors are the same. A 350 is a V-8 motor. On the top of the engine, on the left and right sides, there are cam shaft covers. They look like very long bread pans turned upside down. In the middle of one of those, is a cap. That is where you add the oil to the motor.

Begin by first opening the glovebox and removing the light assembly at the top.
Pry the right side of the light assembly downward and it will pop out.
Disconnect the connector going to the light and set it aside.
Now you'll need to remove the glovebox.
The glovebox is held in place by six Phillips head screws, two on the top edge of the glovebox under the dashboard trim, two along the bottom edge of the glovebox under two rubber caps and two hidden up underneath the top edge on either side of the light.
You'll need to remove the rubber caps along the bottom edge of the glovebox. Just pop them out with a screwdriver.
Once all the screws have been removed, give the glovebox a firm tug towards you to remove it from the dashboard.

How do you remove and replace the dashboard of a 1983 Mercedes Benz 300CD?
Remove the center plastic emblem, and expose a large machine screw with a 10mm female hex. To remove the steering wheel one will need a good sized breaker bar.
With the steering wheel out of the way remove the instrument cluster with v. small hooks, Mercedes makes a neat tool for this. The cluster is restrained by the oil pressure line and the speedometer cable so you should remove these now. The oil pressure line is full of oil so protect the floor and yourself. Disconnect the lights from the back of the cluster.
Once the cluster is out of the way, one can focus on the steel tubes that are bent and are bolted to the transmission housing and the dash. Now, it is necessary to remove the center console. It is screwed to the dash and unless it is out you will not be able to remove the dash. This is not difficult but care must be taken to not break the plastic tab on the center console housing the window controls etc. The tab is on the rear end of the wood, and the wood must be lifted SLIGHTLY and then pulled back to release the tab from the transmission housing. At the forward end the ash tray screws must be removed first.
Now, let us take stock. The knee panels are out, the steering wheel off, the center console is removed, the steel support tubes on each side of the transmission housing are removed, as is the radio which is its own headache, and all screws and machine bolts preserved.
Now remove the A-pillar trim on each side of the windshield as well as the dash speakers, take care of the speaker wires.
AC hoses must now be disconnected carefully. Do not horse anything under the dash as repairs are tough with limited room.
Lift the dash up and then pull gently on the right side first, removing the dash from the right and out the door.
There you are. Many steps but not rocket science, the science part comes with noting each step, photographing it and perhaps even sketching what you see so that a record is kept of what you did.
Replace per the owner's manual by retracing each step in reverse.

Depending on how it failed, it usually is one of two different symptoms. Both will turn on the check engine light, and store a code. If the valve fails in the closed postition, the engine will run normally and cause any driveability related problems.
Whining noise in front end on Mercedes ml-320?
I have the same noise. It is very strange, because when I am stopped, the noise disappears, it appears when I start moving, but it does not increase as speed increases (that is what I would expect). It increases the frequency when I accelerate but only while moving. I suspect it could be related to the serpentine belt. or to the belt tensioner.
