What console should you buy?

If your more serious about games, not so childish, then either the xbox 360 or playstation 3. If you want childish party games, then the Nintendo wii. I personally prefer the playstation3 because it has more power and a blu ray player. It also has gran turismo which i think is brilliant.

What are the soldering points on an xbox controller to do the rapid fire mod?

When you open your Xbox 360 wireless controller, take off the rubber padding underneath the buttons and to the bottom right of where the "A" button's receiver is there should be 3 vertical prongs. You should solder anywhere from a 24-30 gauge wire onto that jint with extra caution not to burn it out. If you look where the rumble packs are connected there are 2 horizontal prongs. You can solder to either of them and it will work. This will work with any prong or metal in the controller with electrical flow going to it. When you solder the wire I recommend getting a push button to choose when you want it to fire rapid.

How do you put a larger hard drive in and put old info on it?

Assuming it is an IDE drive, there are two IDE slots - Primary & Secondary. Each slot can hold two drives, Master & Slave, which are configured by jumper settings on the disk drive.

You have two options.

OPTION ONE: Start a brand new installation on the new drive. Reinstall the OS and all your software, then add the old drive as an additional drive. Your old data is then available to copy across.

This sounds drastic, but it has the advantage of cleaning up your PC, getting rid of old / corrupted no longer used files.

Remove old drive (otherwise the old OS will be detected). Install new drive as Primary-Master. Reload Windows Configure old drive as either "Primary-Slave" or "Secondary-Master". This will probably depend on where your IDE cables reach. If the new drive has room, I would copy the old drive across into "C:\old drive" and keep the old drive in a cupboard as an emergency backup. Carry on reinstalling.Your old data will be available in "C:\old drive" or on your "D:" or "E:" drive. nb Do not format or delete files from your old drive until everything is working again. (In an emergency, it will still be available for booting). Caveat: Reloading data into some software may require some degree of computer knowledge. It may not be a simple case of copying over files.

OPTION TWO: Duplicate the drive using software such as "Partition Magic" or "Norton Ghost". This involves an expense, but saves having to reinstall.

Install new drive as "Primary-Slave" or "Secondary-Master". Load "Partition Magic". Duplicate the existing drive onto the new drive. Increase the partition size on the new drive to its maximum. Configure new drive as "Primary-Master". Remove old drive. Boot up. You should get your old system back, but with much more disk space. The old drive can be stored as a back up, or added later as a "Primary-Slave", "Secondary-Master" once the system is proved to be working.

Just to clarify the above answer... Partition Magic won't clone a disk but Drive Image Pro (by the same company) will. I prefer Ghost. See if your IT people at work can assist you if they use a cloning program.

Alternate Software OptionI would like to mention an additional software tool that I have found to be easier than Ghost. Acronis True Image is awesome for swapping the hard drive or even when you upgrade the CPU and motherboard. It has a Universal Restore option that will allow you to reimage your entire Windows environment (applications and all) to a brand new machine. It is pretty affordable at $29.00 or so.

How do you disable vibration in Xbox controller s?

Well, It's a pretty simple process if you can get the damned thing open. -If you have a wired controller, use a small Phillips head screwdriver to take out all the screws and open the casing. -If you have a wireless controller, you'll need a T8H security Torx screwdriver. You can buy these on Ebay and Amazon, but you'll never find one at SEARS (I've looked, trust me). OR, you can make like I did and snap off the pin in the middle of the screw with a very small flathead screwdriver or a pocketknife. They're pretty easy to bend, and if you bend them twice, they'll pop right off. You van then take out the screws with a regular T8 Torx screwdriver. These, you CAN get at SEARS. Once you have it open, look just below the circuit board. There should be two silver and black cylinders with half- circle weights attacked to them. These are the vibro- motors. They connect to the circuit board through a pair of cables- they even have plugs and sockets. Simple unplug the motors. Or, if you want to save some weight, take them out completely. Close the sucker up and you're good.

Is there a way to share one outlet for two different ethernet cords Like an adaptor I need my computer and my Xbox 360 connected at the same time through only one outlet.?

Answer:

It is called an Ethernet switch. you can get them at best buy, staples, or your local electronics shop for very cheap ($40 or so versus Micro$oft's wi-fi adapter at $100). The smaller ones will have 5 plugs in the back. Just plug an ethernet cord from the wall into anyone of the ports in back, connect your PC and Xbox into any other 2 ports and you're ready to rock. It will probably also need power, but I'm sure you have a power strip near by. No software to install, just plug and play baby. Took me less than 5 minutes to set up and works great for me, and many others I know. The original answer below seems way overcomplicated, but may also work, lol.

previous answer:

II Column II:

From what I know, I actually wanted to do this, but it is very complitcated and a waste of time. For one: if your internet is not working on the computer, then your xbox will not connect either to xbox live because you are sharing the internet through one ethernet cable. I myself just simply have 2 wireless adapters than connect to the only wireless router I have at my home. You can just simply buy a (B) adapter for the computer, (B) is the oldest, slowest, channel but it still works good enough just for access of the internet (512kbps).

If you are wondering how you can just use only one wireless adapter for both computer and xbox, then that is what I will answer. If you are looking for something different, then I am sorry, you will need to rephrase your question.

Make sure you have the one adapter in your room, that is at least a

(G) or (N) adapter that connects to an ethernet (not a usb). Your computer must have the compatability of 2 ethernet slots on your computer. Computers can always be modified with more hubs and ports, so if you do not have the ability to insert 2 ethernets on your computer then, this process will not work. Next you will need 1 ethernet cord and you will have to buy, (if you do not have it) a crossover ethernet. A crossover ethernet is a new type of ethernet that has 2 wires simply crossing inside the cable. This feature helps you run data through the crossover cable, and it crosses over to another nearby ethernet. Once you have all the items:

Plug in the original ethernet cord to the adapter, and plug in the other end on the computer. Take the crossover cord (ethernet) and plug that on the computer as well. (both ethernet and crossover need to be plugged in, not just one at a time, and the 2 ethernet hubs should be right next to each other). Take the other end of the crossover and plug it in to the xbox. This process can be in vice versa with the crossover in the adapter to the computer and the ethernet in the computer to the xbox. Some configurations may be required for the crossover ethernet, xbox settings, computer settings, and other things. Once you get that far, you may need assistance.
