Is Migraine Headache the first step of a brain hemorrhage?
No it is not usually, however Migrainous stroke is a possible but rare occurrence.
A severe and sudden headache may be the sign of a stroke or aneurism. Often described as "the worst headache of my life", a ruptured aneurism is a serious but rare occurrence, and the pain may be mistaken for a severe Migraine. There are many different types of headache however, some causing excruciating and sudden pain. A bad headache doesn't necessarily mean a brain bleed. Seek the help of a physician, especially a headache specialist for any headache that is new or lasts longer than 72 hrs.
What is Arnold-Chairi malformation?
Arnold-Chiari malformation is a rare genetic disorder in which parts of the brain are formed abnormally. Malformations may occur in the lower portion of the brain (cerebellum ) or in the brain stem.
If you are on day 59 of migraine, and your migraine has not ceased for at least 4 hours time, it is necessary and your right to ask for more aggressive treatment. Whenever you have a migraine which lasts for 72 hours without a break, you may need to be admitted to the hospital for treatment by IV by a medication such as DHE, Valproic Acid, or a number of other medications.
At the very least, ask your neurologist to try a steroid dose pack to break the current cycle.
You also may want to ask if you can be referred to a pain specialist to receive treatment such as a Greater Occipital Nerve Block.
Your neurologist is using the two of the medications shown to be most successful in preventing migraines and/or reducing the pain associated with them. Keep in mind it can take at leastthree months for your neurologist to be able to tell whether or not your current preventative regime is likely to benefit you. There are many, many, many other preventative medications out there. I know the trial and error process we go through is beyond frustrating and frequently heartbreaking when medications don't pan out. Just know that you are not at the end of the line yet.
Treximet and Maxalt are part of a group of abortive medications called the triptans. Treximet is simply Imitrex with Naproxen (the active ingredient in Aleve). Naproxen is an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory). NSAIDs are used in treating migraines because they deal with the inflammation which is part of the migraine process, as well as reducing prostaglandins - which are chemicals in the body which play a large role in pain and the sensitivity the body has to it.
Besides Imitrex, Treximet, and Maxalt - there are other medications in the triptan category. One of them may work for you - and keep in mind, you can always speak to your doctor about adding Naproxen to any of the triptans. You may even ask if injectable Imitrex while taking Naproxen.
A list of the other triptans: Zomig, Axert, Amerge, Relpax, Frova
If you haven't already, begin keeping a headache diary. Even though you are in pain every day, it is still important to keep the diary of how you are doing, how active you are able to be, and where your pain levels are at. By doing this, you may be able to see overall patterns - such as if your current preventive regimen is beginning to slowing work, or find triggers you may be able to avoid.
Keep in mind that there is a type of chronic migraine called Medication Overuse Headache. Medication Overuse includes the use of OTC medications such as Tylenol, as well as prescribed painkillers which contain narcotic medications (codeine, oxycodone, hydrocodone) AND Tylenol. Medication overuse is also associated with overuse of triptans. You are a good candidate for chronic migraine due to medication overuse if are taking these types of medications more than 3 days a week to more than 15 days a month. The only way to determine if Medication Overuse is the culprit is to remove the offending medications completely for several months. It is very, very hard, but worth it when after that time there is a reduction in the number of days you are in pain.
When keeping a headache diary, you may wish to begin documenting the medications you are taking to abort or relieve your head pain, because many times - when you take something in the depths of pain - all you are thinking of is getting relief, and you may not realize how many days out of the month you are taking these medications.
It is a completely normal feeling to want and seek relief of the pain you are experiencing, and medication overuse headache is not an addiction disorder. It simply means that your body has become entrapped in a headache cycle due to becoming accustomed the medication you are taking.
Natural Methods:
Note: Please note that you should still be informing your neurologist of all Vitamin/Mineral and Herbal supplements you may decide to take. (For example, feverfew is an herb used to abort migraines - it works as a vasocontrictor - which the triptan medications also do. So it may not be wise to take them together).
There are a number of natural ways to try and help yourself prevent migraines or at the very least reduce your pain levels. Some of these are Vitamin B2, Magnesium, Fish Oil, and Vitamin D. These have been found in scientific studies to be beneficial in the treatment of migraines. People with chronic pain, as well as people who are in chronic pain from other issues, are often found to be deficient in magnesium and Vitamin D. Both of these necessary nutrients have been shown to reduce pain or increase the pain threshold in patients.
A more recent natural ingredient used to treat migraine is intranasal capsaicin. Yes, capsaicin is the ingredient in hot peppers. Feel free to cringe at the idea of inhaling it. However, studies have shown that it may have an immediate ability to abort migraine and cluster headache, and even if it cannot successfully abort migraines or cluster headache, when it is repeatedly used over time, it can significantly reduce the two pain disorder's ability to be triggered. This is because repeated use of capsaicin against the nerve fibres it comes into contact with toughens them up - not only so that the capsaicin doesn't burn as much anymore, but that the nerves are resistant to other stimuli as well.
There are different companies that make capsaicin nasal sprays and they are not insanely expensive. Please be aware of other herbal ingredients some of them contain.
I am adding a link to this question that you most definitely should check out - a website created by a sufferer of migraines who is intensely knowledgeble and an advocate. She has things on her website such as downloadable diaries and lists of the medications used to treat migraine, including a list of IV medications that can be used in the hospital to try and break intractable migraines.
I know it is not easy - but don't give up. You still have so many options before you.
Does too much tylonal pm cause yellow eyes?
Exceeding the daily dose of acetaminophen can cause liver damage or fatal liver failure.
Yellow eyes is a sign of jaundice and jaundice is a sign of liver damage.
If you have recently been taking a large amount of acetaminophen (Tylenol, Nyquil, Percocet), you should seek emergency help.
At the absolute least, you need to see your regular doctor as soon as possible. Even if the Tylenol is not the cause of your jaundice, you need to find out what is causing your liver to malfunction.
How long should synulox take to work?
It depends what it is being used for! May need to use it for 4 weeks for skin infections or 1 week for other problems.
Can migraine headaches or teeth clenching cause the back of your head to be sore and tender?
Yes.
For some people muscle spasms occur during migraine because of the pain. They may also hold their body/neck strangely due to pain, and nearly any alteration you make in one muscle group of the body will affect another muscle group. Some migraineurs also experience allodynia, which is a kind of oversensitivity of the skin which can make even brushing your hair impossible.
Teeth clenching can also cause the occipital area of the head to be tender, because biting down your jaw tightens all the muscles of the face and jaw, and then radiates.
There is a dental appliance called the NTI, which relieves tension caused by clenching or grinding teeth during the night. This can help prevent migraines and headaches caused by those things.
What impact does depakote have when taking it?
Depakote has the tendency to slow or stabilize neurologic brain activity.
What would be wrong if you have a hard lump on your ear near your top jawbone on the right side?
If it is new, any new lump anywhere on your body should be discussed with your doctor.
If it is painful or soft, it could be anything from a tumor to an ingrown hair. If you have been in a car accident and had glass cuts on your head, it is possible to have pieces of glass work it's way back to the surface of the skin even years later.
If it is hard, does not move then you press on it, and feels like part of the skull, it probably is part of the skull. The human skull is made up of several different bones which are rarely perfectly smooth. Where those bones grew together in your childhood can cause irregularities on the surface of the skull, some of which can be felt through the skin.
AnswerI have had a lump above my ear for a week. At 1st it was not painful and flesh colour, after a few days it became a little painful and reddish. I went to my GP today and found that it is an impetigo, a benign infection of the skin that is not harmful but can't usually clear on its own and can spread to other parts of the body or to others. The GP has prescribed me an antibiotic cream and he reckons the lump will be gone in 3 days. In any case , get lumps checked out as you can't really get a diagnosis unless an expert looks at it
Hope this helped a bit.
ANSWER: Sometimes, it can mean you have swollen lymph nodes. I do. Don't panic, just talk to your physician.
Is there a new shot or nasal spray for migraine headaches?
The triptans that are available now have been available for some time now. It doesn't look like there is much interest from the pharmaceutical companies in making sure that every triptan that comes out also comes out with an injection, dissolving tablet, or nasal spray.
Keep in mind that just because you have tried one triptan medication does not mean you will respond the same to all of them. Many people respond better to one than another.
Imitrex: tablet, nasal spray, injection
Zomig: tablet, nasal spray, orally disintegrating tablet
Maxalt: tablet, orally disintegrating tablet
Axert: tablet
Relpax: tablet
Amerge: tablet
Frova: tablet
Treximet: tablet
Treximet is the newest of the bunch. It contains Imitrex along with the main ingredient in Aleve (which can help it last longer, reduce inflammation better). If you absolutely need to have your triptan as an injection, you may want to try taking Imitrex as an injection, and then once the nausea dies down - taking a couple Aleve (or prescription Naproxen).
Can gastrodia cause side effects?
One source reports that the side effects of gastrodia include skin allergies, hair loss, and other allergic reactions.
What does constant nausea mean?
Migraines are a neurological disorder/disease that usually begin as episodic attacks. If not properly treated, episodic Migraine can transform to a chronic condition in which the patient spends more days with a Migraine than not. Additionally, some patients find themselves using more medicine than their bodies can handle. When this happens the medicine actually causes the pain and it is no longer called Migraine, but Medication Overuse Headache (not to be confused with misuse of medicine). There is also a condition called New Daily Persistent Headache that may be what is happening. Hemicrania Continua is another diagnosis that should be looked at. Do no try to diagnose yourself though. For best results, see a headache specialist who has had extra training in diagnosing and treating these types of disorders.

Are there any risks for birth defects if the father takes depakote?
Sperm abnormalities are documented with Depakote. Some Anti-Epileptic Drugs (AEDs) are associated with sperm abnormalities, including low semen volume, low sperm count and abnormal sperm motility. The following AEDs have been linked to sperm abnormalities: carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine and valproate (Depakote). I am not aware of congenital malformations caused by a Father utilizing Depakote.
When taken by the Mother, Valproate can cause major congenital malformations, particularly neural tube defects (e.g., spina bifida). Depakote can cause decreased IQ scores following in utero exposure. As a general rule, Depakote is contraindicated in pregnant women unless benefit exceeds risk considering alternative treatment failures.

Answer The first part of your question can be researched. I'm not sure what you mean by the 2nd half. You can't get his Purple Heart unless it has already been issued to him. I don't think the Gov't will send you a new/replacement Purple Heart unless the documents are signed by the Veteran who earned them. I may be wrong. First you must identify the unit that he served with in combat. He may have trained with one unit but what unit was he in while on duty? If you know the unit, then you can find out where that unit served. Also you can contact the National Archives and the records for that unit should have a General Order that issued the Purple Heart. My recommendation is to contact all known family members. Sometimes an distant Aunt will have an ole letter the Vet wrote that will give his unit, etc. It will also provide dates or clues to the dates that he was in the military. Start with that. Then contact the NARA, National Archives, and see if they can help. Custermen

What would cause a 1980 YZ50 to run better on choke?
CARBY MIXTURE SCREW SET TOO LEAN
Cracked intake boot, dirty carb [inside].
Cracked boot is most commonly found in these older bikes. An air leak between the carb and the combustion chamber of any kind will produce what you describe as it is being starved for fuel and flood with air. A simple way to confirm or disprove this is to spray a solution on the boot to see the effect of the solution entering the combustion chamber with the leaking air. A safe solution would be water but I always use starting fluid and small controlled burst and listen for the engine to rev.
