first of all the name of a website should reflect the content of your website, so your visitors can tell or guess what the website is about. For example when you see wikianswers you know or guess it has something to do with some kind of looking for help thing.

But of course the name of the domain can be fancy and creative, as long as it sticks to the content of the website. Imagine if a website called electronicbook.com is selling apples, that will make it weird.

another very important thing you need to consider is the sub names after the domain, which in many cases will help you get more visitors to your site when ppl do organic search. for example www.electronicbook.com/how_to_drive.html is much better than just calling it www.electronicbook.com/mypage.html, because each time ppl searching for "how to drive" in google or other search engines, your page will have a bigger chance to be ranked higher since the file name matches the key words that people are searching for.

Finally the name should be a combination of no more than 3 words, since it makes it difficult for people to ready. If you need to have 3 words as the domain, use - or _ to separate them. For instance www.peoplewanttotalk.com is more difficult to read than www.people_want2talk.com
