Nikola Tesla

Nikola Tesla is most famous for his development of alternating current as a means of distributing electrical power. He is also known for his unsuccessful efforts to create economical broadcast power through his use of the Tesla coil on a large scale.

Like Edison, who was his first employer in the US and became his great and bitter rival, Tesla was a prodigious inventor, although his work was more concentrated on electricity than was Edison's.

Anomalies[edit] In the book Tesla: Man Out of Time, there are references to missing patents.[7] Some patents of his experiments are lost to history, as well as some of the scientific notes and records pertaining to Tesla's patents. These, though, are alluded to in the redacted FBI files. The missing patents may be among effects seized by government agents and military intelligence officers following Tesla's death in 1943. In various patent logs, it is recorded Tesla received U.S. Patent 613,819 for "Filings Tube" (such as Charles Henry Sewall's "Wireless Telegraphy" (New York, 1904)).[8][9] This number does not match the U. S. Patent office records (that patent is issued to G. Kelly for an "Illuminating torch"). Nikola Tesla was an inventor and engineer who was viewed as eccentric. Some of his characteristics that could be associated with Asperger's Syndrome (AS) are a possible photographic memory, picture thinking his inventions in every detail without drawing them, fastidiousness about hygeine, not finishing college, and being reclusive. Of course, these characteristics do not mean that he had AS. Less similar to people with AS, he also had friends and made a good impression on most people when he chose to interact with them.

In 1892 Tesla created his radio. Marconi got a patent using some Tesla's patents but it was revoked and given to Nikola Tesla as the inventor. Anyways, Marconi's radio had a very short range and the Tesla radio was a long range one.

the same basic design can be adapted to run on compressed air, steam, or even as a combustion engine.

Respectively, the material requirements differ for each:

a compressed air model can be built using DVD discs i.e better able than a cdrom for surviving the high rotational speeds;

a steam one, I attempted by using precision discs out of an old computer mainframe from the 80's; and

a combustion model would need to have its discs made from steel etc in order to be able to survive the ignition temperatures
