Yes, Ninjitsu practitioners still practice and teach their arts today. The arts are based upon traditional techniques and modern techniques. The most prestigious practitioners are located in Japan. The traditional provinces are the Iga Province and the former Koga province. If you are looking to learn from the best, you will need to expect to dedicate years of service to learn the arts of ninjitsu. Western schools also offer the modern pay for classes transaction though.

How do know when to become a ninja?
There are 3 steps to become a ninja:
- You must be able to hide well. (You will have mastered this when you can be out in the open yet no one can see you.)
- You must have purchased a ninja outfit (or something of the equivalent)
- You must make sound effects when you chop things
If you have mastered all these steps you will officially become a NINJA!
To become a ninja you need to spend lots of time fighting the war of card jitsu and when you get the black belt you need to fight sensi and if you win you will become a NINJA!
But if that is not what you mean then you need to be a member to be a true ninja.

The sword could also help the ninja to gain some extra height if he needed to climb a wall by leaning the weapon up against it. The ninja could then step onto its hilt and loop the suspensory cord around his foot so that when he climbed the wall he could pull the sword up.
