How do you make tuna pasta sald?

1. Prepare pasta. Absolutely any type of pasta works for this dish: penne, farfalle, linguine, etc. Use whatever you like or already have in the pantry. Cook pasta according to package's directions and leave to drain. 2. While the pasta is draining, add some olive oil to the same pot that you used to cook the pasta. Heat it up just a little. Crush garlic cloves into the warm oil - use as many garlic cloves as you like. If you're not a garlic fan, just use one or two; if you're a big garlic fan, use six or more. Cook the crushed garlic in the olive oil for just a few seconds until it starts to fry just a little. Don't cook it for too long because garlic burns easily. 3. Meanwhile, open the cans of tuna and drain out all of the liquid. Set aside. 4. When the garlic and olive oil are ready, add the pasta and toss. You may need to let it warm up over low heat in case the pasta has gotten cold. 5. Add the canned tuna to the pasta and toss well. 6. Pour just a bit of cream over the pasta and toss. Add cream a little at a time. You just want to lightly coat the pasta in cream, not have it swimming in it. Keep everything on low heat, so that it stays warm as you continue to add ingredients. 7. Add grated parmesan to the pasta and toss. As with all of the other ingredients in this recipe, add as much cheese as you want. The cheese should slightly melt and stick to the pasta and tuna. 8. Add salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Add other chopped herbs, like fresh parsley. Toss everything together to make sure that it is well mixed. 9. Serve with more chopped herbs and grated parmesan on top.

How many grams is 2 cups dry corkscrew pasta?

To be honest it depends on the type of pasta. For instance, 2 lbs. dry vermicelli will take up the equivalent space of about 3 cups. For elbow macaroni that'll be about 5 cups or so. For rotini it could be 5 or 6 cups. for angel hair pasta, usually packaged in cakes, it can be almost 12 cups. The best thing to do is weigh, or purchase the weight you need of any particular dry pasta.

BTW 1 lb of homemade fresh pasta dough is about 3 1/2 cups, before shaping it and cooking it.

How much will 12 oz. of pasta equal when cooked?

That depends on the pasta. Some pasta is quite light and made in hollow shapes, ie Farfalle, Lumache and Conchigli. These tend to weigh about 100 grams or less per cup. Going up we have rigate, penne and radiatori , these are denser and in more solid shapes. These run about 130 - 160 grams per cup. Finally, the heavy varieties like spaghettini and linguini - if you bunch these together ans stand upright in a cup the will be 220 -235 grams per cup.

What fruit to avoid while taking coumadin?

Gouty arthritis is a condition brought about by too much uric acid building up in the blood stream. Uric acid is metabolised by the system from purines which come from the nucleus of the cells of once living things. Percentage of these come from your own body cells as they are replaced and reabsorbed into the body and others come from the foods you eat. The body filters uric acid out via the Kidneys the large intestine and in sweat, with the kidneys being the main organ to deal with it. if there is an over production of uric acid or if the kidney does not function properly then the concentration of uric acid becomes too high. This leads to the acid turning into tiny sharp crystals that find their way int synovial joints and other places leading to extreme pain. The rule of thumb regarding what gout sufferers should avoid is, high purine foods starting with seafood's, followed by offal foods such as brains . liver kidney etc then red meats White meats onto to legumes. The best thing to do is get a purine table to help you restrict the foods that are high in purines that make uric acid.
