I am allergic to penicillin, cephalorsporins, sulfa drugs and now levaquin. I had a severe reaction to levaquin after taking it for about 4 days for pneumonia. My face and eyes swelled up and I got hives all over. This is a delayed reaction, but definitely an allergic reaction, so you may not realize you allergic to it until a few days in.

I would be very careful before deciding to take levaquin, since it may cause severe swelling, but of course everyone is different.

No but if you are on birth control and took penicillin and had intercourse you could be pregnant. Some antibiotics affect the birth control pill and therefore you could get pregnant. You should take a pregnancy test or see your doctor.

My partner is allergic to augmentin (she comes up in hives) so her Dr prescribes her amoxicillin and shes fine with that, if that's any help lol
