However, if you do this, you might as well not even wear the respirator in the first place. If you're entering an area that you know contains rodents, just try to get the job done as quickly as you can with the respirator on. I was an electrician and worked in lots of old houses and I got used to wearing the respirator. I was also a soldier and learned the importance of trusting my equipment. A respirator is much more comfortable than an NBC pro mask.

Yes, I got a kitten a year ago, and the poor thing was infested with fleas! The kitten was too young for flea shampoo, so we decided to try dawn dishwashing liquid and it worked. If you do research on fleas, you'll find that if you put a candle in a bowl with dish wash water on the floor at night, fleas will go to it and drown in the water. This is because it cuts the tension in water and they will drown. Same principal applies to putting it on your cat, it will kill them.
I washed my kitten in water with dawn dish washing liquid and then comb the fur with a comb.....regular one from the dollar general store made for humans :) and they would fall right out, all dead! My kitten had no skin reaction.

And as far as symptoms.... itching for starters lol, but is the cat has them really really bad they will get anxiety, lose weight, become lethargic, diarrhea, puking and so forth....
Either way one flea is to many... and if your cats sick and you have no clue as to why... try calling the vet and describing their syptoms.
